  1. Chicagosports.com has the Roberts trade on the front page but the link doesnt work.
  2. Once again, put a lot of credence in this or none at all. It's certainly subject to change, as this whole strange process has a few times. Crap, Hendry bid against himself again. Zambrano and Pie going over to the O's Edit: Oh and some credit for Nav please. He posted this a half hour ago and no one really said anything. Do you have a source Nav or was that just an educated guess?
  3. You can make this trade look really bad for the Cubs. Two of the Cubs biggest problems were offense at SS and starting pitching depth, particularly at the backend. So we solved this by trading our most MLB ready SS prospect and two starting pitchers for an admitted steroid user at a position that we were very set at.
  4. OK lets just go after Jeter or Hanley Ramirez then. Oh wait there is no way they will get traded. Greene keeps getting mentioned because of a rumor that he was available for Pie last May. Right now, not too many better SSs are rumored to be out there, hence why Greene is mentioned so often.
  5. More rampant speculation from the O's board. The same guy thats proclaiming the deal is close is now saying: They are probably all laughing at us Edit: Belkast is saying:
  6. Going with a Packers fan here for some reason.
  7. I see the speed debate is back again. Didn't the 2006 Cubs teach anyone anything?
  8. Website. Please. Here is a site with a bunch of good shirts including that one: http://www.cafepress.com/cubsbleacherbum/2619316
  9. I want this shirt: http://jitcrunch.cafepress.com/jitcrunch.aspx?bG9hZD1ibGFuayxibGFuazozOF9GX2M0LmpwZ3xsb2FkPUwwLGh0dHA6Ly9pbWFnZXMuY2FmZXByZXNzLmNvbS9pbWFnZS8yNDQzOTUyNl80MDB4NDAwLnBuZ3x8c2NhbGU9TDAsMTcwLDE3MCxXaGl0ZXxjb21wb3NlPWJsYW5rLEwwLEFkZCwxNjIsOTN8Y3A9cmVzdWx0LGJsYW5rfHNjYWxlPXJlc3VsdCwwLDQ4MCxXaGl0ZXxjb21wcmVzc2lvbj05NXw=
  10. FWIW, we are not the only ones that value our prospects highly. The people on the Orioles board are currently comparing Sam Fuld to Reggie Willits
  11. One of the comments there mentioned that the Cubs are due for injuries because they had none last season. Come again? Prior - Missed full season Soriano - Missed about 10 games in the spring and 3 weeks in the fall with injuries. Was on DL in August. Wood - Did not start season until Mid-August Lee - Mostly healthy but missed 6 straight games in mid-July Ramirez - Was on the DL in June Dempster - Spend 2-3 weeks on the DL Ward - Spent multiple trips on DL Pagan - Missed August and September with coilitus Blanco - Missed 3 months of the season with injury Guzman - Season ended in June. I'm not saying we were as injury plagued as years past, but we didn't have 0 injuries all season.
  12. Funny how the BCS works out. The voters hand select LSU to play OSU in the title game, jumping Missouri, West Virginia, Georgia and Kansas, all who have 2 losses or less and look what happens. Missouri destroys Alabama West Virginia destroys Oklahoma Georgia destroys Hawaii Kansas (1 loss) beats Virginia Tech Also for good measure, 2 loss USC who was 1 spot behind LSU in the second to last poll, Destroyed Illinois Now obviously you can make a good case that all 5 of those teams didn't deserve it over LSU (Missouri lost to OU twice, WV lost to Pitt in the last week, Georgia didn't even goto the SEC title game, Kansas didn't goto the Big 12 title game) but its still interesting.
  13. isnt gooz out for '08? probably at least the first half Maybe one day he can get his first major league win
  14. Kansas' uniforms look way too much like the Giants
  15. Man it would be really weird if a 1 loss team from a power conference doesn't win the National Title over several 2 loss teams
  16. OK, I didn't mind when they took McDonough, but now this is starting to irk me.
  17. C - Pierzinski 1B - Konerko 2B - Richar 3B - Crede SS - Cabrera RF - Dye CF - Swisher? LF - Fields DH - Thome Seems weird that they would make a trade for an OF that can't play center. Also, Quinten should not be a bench player at this stage of his development. Me thinks another trade is occuring. Most likely Crede will be shipped off so Fields can play 3B and Quinten or Swisher to Left, but maybe Thome is shipped off somewhere for pitching and Swisher becomes the DH
  18. Would anyone have rather had Swisher than Fukudome based on his numbers, salary, age, arb years and proven ML record?
  19. It's not a road upset. They dominated Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh 3 weeks ago. And the Jags are actually favored by 2. Steelers have way too many OL injuries, are missing their best run defender, and their DBs stink. Jacksonville could win by double digits. I realize that they killed Pitt 3 weeks ago. My opinion is based on nothing other than a gut feeling and the fact that everyone has jumped on the Jags bandwagon and have picked them as a road team to beat the Steelers.
  20. I used to agree with that until I played fantasy basketball this year. I think it works very similar.
