  1. Only 6 more runs until we provide enough support for Marquis tonight.
  2. Because Aramis is still out. Don't worry, he'll be hitting 7th again shortly.
  3. But he threw a pitch 5 inches off the plate to get Pujols to stike out... Soriano swings at a lot of pitches 5 in. off the plate. My point is, Marquis is throwing everything 5 inches off the plate, it's up to the batter to actually swing.
  4. But he threw a pitch 5 inches off the plate to get Pujols to stike out...
  5. He's doing the same stuff he was doing Tuesday. 1-0, 2-0, 3-0, 2-1, 3-1 to EVERY hitter. If you can't throw strikes, get the hell off this team. Let's see Lou pull Marquis after 2/3 of an inning.
  6. God forbid someone should ever slump. His OBP is .394 geez.
  7. So is Marmol unavailable tomorrow after heroically preserving today's agme?
  8. We are no better of a team than last year's squad. We need starting pitching S-T-A-T. I don't care how this situation is rectified, just fix it.
  9. You know Geo, you do a lot better when you don't swing at the first pitch...
  10. Is that the guy who gets all those RBI? The one who owns Wrigley Field? The one who wanted to come to the Cubs? Why the hell would we want that guy? The one that would come cheaper and shorter term?
  11. Why can't I rely on our $17 million run producer to....you know, produce runs?
  12. What the hell, did he just stop playing defense during his stint in Chicago?
  13. -How will this affect the cubs as Gallardo is arguably the most important part of the brewers rotation (depending on if you consider another sheets injury a forgone conclusion or not). Well the Cubs have their own pitching problems to worry about. Certainly helps to not have your best pitching in there. Could be bad for the Cubs in the long run if the Brewers stay in the race and mange to swing a trade for an AJ Burnett or a Rich Harden or someone. -Did Yost leaving him in there further the injury? No, I think it's already been said it wasn't the cause -Even if it did not, why leave him in? Ned Yost -Will it require surgery? (I haven't heard) I think so, its a complete tear Replacement options? (Dave Bush for now...potential trades?) Jeff Weaver? Also the names I said before. and a non-Gallardo question: How should opposing teams fans handle themselves on the board? Respectful, not steping on any toes or engaging in any sort of trolling activity. This is a Cubs board, and it is frequented by Cubs fans, to discuss Cubs baseball. I don't mind if you have a differing opinion on issues, but if you do stuff like openly root for your team here (i.e. during Cubs/Brewers game, saying "CMON BREWERZZZ!" in the game thread) you are not welcome.
  14. Well it seems like we are having this "referendum" nearly every AB.
  15. Geo Soto. Too bad Pie and...Wuertz? are due up
  16. Those are the types of plays that work once every 4-5 times, and when it does, you feel like a complete moron for not stopping it. The other 3-4 times, Tony LaRussa likes like a moron.
  17. At this point, I hope Hill gets demoted to Iowa (he has options left right?) just so he can start without concern for his performance so he can get things together again.
