  1. I think its kinda good because I think it would seem stupid to play a team 17 times in the regular season and then play them again right away in the NLDS, but then again, it seems like the Wild Card winner is in the same division as the team with the best record almost every year, and I think that's bad.
  2. You owe a couple of dollars to the Tampa Bay Rays fund.
  3. LOL @ the Brewers lineup: Durham Counsell Nix Fielder Hart Hall Cameron Kendall Sheets
  4. I'm pretty pumped. I've been sending questions to ESPN.com chats for years now, but I finally got a questioned answered today by Keith Law: OK, so it wasn't the most riveting conversation but oh well.
  5. It will never happen but Theriot DeRosa Ramirez Soriano Lee Edmonds Soto Fukudome
  6. Brewers have given up a total of 12 runs during their 8 game winning streak....someone needs to start swinging the bats. BTW, Peavy's ERA at Petco is something like 1.76 this year.
  7. Oh I'm well aware. Yovanni, whether he comes back as a starter or reliever, could be the difference in the playoffs. He is such a wild card. When the Brewers don't resign Sheets or CC this offseason, I think a lot of people will discredit the Brewers next year but because of Gallardo and most likely a smart but economical FA pickup, they will be right here again next year.
  8. *vomits* Sorry, I am still conditioned to hate seeing comments like that from his Cardinals days, whether they are true or not (and I'm not saying the statement is/isn't correct)
  9. Glavine, coming off the DL, has to be on some pitch count. If we get to the pen early, after yesterday, expect fireworks. Because of the 3 off days in the last week, plus the off day coming up on Monday, the bullpen is relatively still well rested despite throwing almost 8 innings yesterday. We should dominate.
  10. Good to hear. I'd rather beat the Brewers at full strength. Except for Yovanni. He can rest until next year :)
  11. Lou makes the right move  I guess Samardjiza's starting Sunday then? Why would you presume that? Jeff threw 2 innings today.
  12. if he stayed healthy enough to make all of his starts, he'd throw over 200 innings. He's an ace. You might be right, and its hard to argue with his numbers. I'm not really basing my opinion on numbers as much as what I've seen (probably my first problem). He has ace stuff, but has too many 5IP 93 pitch games for me to consider him an ace in the class of Johan, Webb, etc.
  13. Me too :) White Sox fans can have their Konerko Grand Slam, Red Sox fans have have Dave Roberts' steal. I'll take 10-0, 10-0, 10-0, 10-0 in a potential World Series thank you :)
  14. After watching Harden pitch, I can get an idea of why he is a very good pitcher, but he is definitely not in that ace class. Has he always rung up big pitch counts in his career. His ERA is excellent, but is there a big difference between a 2.50 ERA over 5 innings and a 3.00 ERA over 7?
  15. Derrek grow some balls and hit a grand slam.
  16. The Cardinals have 5 runs on 16 hits today....wow.
  17. Imagine how much better this Cubs team would be if Lee was putting up 2005 Lee numbers instead of 2006 Matt Murton numbers.
  18. I wonder if the Braves are going to throw a pitch into the Cubs dugout because the Cubs players are showing off by not paying attention to the game.
