  1. I kind of like this Ohtani heel turn. It’s more fun to hate him
  2. How was Ohtani's first ever game at Wrigley Field? Ohtani's exit velo and xBA for his batted balls today: 106.1 mph .900 xBA (Double) 83.1 mph, .100 xBA (Groundout) 105.2 mph, .870 xBA (HR in 30/30 parks) 99.2 mph, .600 xBA (Lineout) 110.2 mph, .910 xBA (Lineout)
  3. BTW that Ohtani flyout in the 8th inning that ended up being a harmless routine flyout was hit 110 MPH with an xBA of .910
  4. How important is defense? 2 defensive plays by Nico and Busch prevented 4 Dodgers runs today.
  5. Outman has been so cold this year, hopefully he remains cold for another PA
  6. Well 2 outs but now a basehit from tying the game. Lets go Adbert, where's that swing and miss stuff?
  7. How many horsefeathers IF hits are we going to give up Edit: nevermind hes out
  8. Nice painting the corners to Betts. Now just have to figure out how to get Ohtani out, currently 2-4 with a double, HR and loud lineout Would help if strikes were called strikes
  9. Leadoff walk with Betts, Ohtani and Freeman lurking is sub-optimal
  10. This reminds me of that Braves series last August. No lead felt safe
  11. Morel would have gotten to that and then thrown the ball into the stands
  12. Ugh couldnt get out of it. stupid horsefeathers Dodgers
  13. both offenses are relentless today. Just chill out and let us take the w today
  14. I'm absolutely not implying that he's going to be bad or anything but Belli has looked off for the most part this year with a couple exceptions.
  15. This feels like the offense of last August when they were just relentless and kept piling on.
  16. Yeah I remember him being really solid in April/May (like the game against the Dodgers). That's not a bad theory. I think he even had a spot start in September when he wasn't bad. HAPP!
  17. Drew Smyly all the sudden turning into a lockdown reliever will never not surprise me. He went from getting shelled as a starter last year to immediately being an effective bullpen arm.
  18. But again he wasn't bad last year. In fact in a number of areas his numbers were the best they've been since 2020. The Cubs didn't pick up his $16.5m option for lack of better options. (at least I don't think so) 2 starts against elite offensive teams is not enough for me to suggest he should be a mop up guy just yet.
  19. Starting to get a little concerned, would be interesting if one of you smart people could try to figure out whats happening under the hood with Hendricks. He wasn't horrible last year. It's still just 2 starts though. People don't seem to have patience so i'd like to understand if its just 2 bad starts against really good offenses or what.
  20. DEFENSE Probably like 3-4 fielders in baseball that don't allow a run to score on that hit
