  1. The Sox fans are trying to embrace every stupid tradition that teams have done over the past 5 years. Expect to see a rally penguin come on the scoreboard if the Sox fall behind.
  2. The longer Minnesota is held scoreless, the more likely this thing is decided on a HR by the White Sox
  3. I don't mind that send actually. Griffey had a horrible throw to third after the first out, and with the way Danks is throwing you need to take a chance like that. AJ almost dropped that
  4. Guz just came off Tommy John, and Gaudin probably is not physically 100% from his injury and they probably determined he won't be able to pitch effectively this postseason.
  5. Could be the board. It is.... when you click submit on a post it doesnt take you to that page telling you your post was successful.
  6. Danks is dealing. I have a feeling he'll give it his all until the 7th and then fall apart if he isn't replaced.
  7. Seriously, same way. I don't know whats wrong with me. People who read this and don't have such a passionate sports following will laugh because they don't understand. I might need to take a xanax to get through work tomorrow. I have to learn to stop telling my wife about these things. She was like "Seriously,Erik? It's a GAME. It's not that important!!" Women just don't understand. Last night I was talking to my girlfriend and I said "i'm nervous" and she said "for what?" and I said "promise you won't laugh?", she said yes, and then I told her I was nervous for the Cubs game, and she laughed anyways.

  9. I must say, the blackout thing does look pretty awesome. Let's hope it has the same effect it had for Georgia last weekend.
  10. =D>
  11. 70 Too many Chicago forumers will either be at the bar or at the game
  12. Mike Hass was signed off the practice squad....bad sign for Lloyd.
  13. I think Cubs lose games 1 and 4 Cubs win games 2,3 and 5
  14. There is still one spot to decide, but I think the Rays will beat whoever survives, so I can put my prediction out there now. Post yours now or wait until tonights game is decided. NL: Phillies over Brewers in 3 Cubs over Dodgers in 5 Cubs over Phillies in 7 AL: Rays over White Sox/Twins in 4 Red Sox over Angels in 5 Red Sox over Rays in 7 WS: Red Sox over Cubs in 6 Also, for the record, the Sox will beat the Twins tonight, although not technically a playoff
  15. Thanks to BCB: http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/31468/cubs093008a.jpg
  16. I'm not
  17. Meaning, I doubt you will see DeRo in RF, probably at 2nd base...Fukudome? Hoffpauir? in RF. Dammit, I really wanted Fontenot's bat in there.
  18. That Kerry Wood HR is still one of my favorite sports memories ever. If not for the Illinois/Arizona game, it'd be #1. I wish I was a true Illinois fan so that I could claim that experience as one of my own. That was such an amazing comeback. At least I experienced it vicariously with fans who live and die by Illini basketball.
  19. Honestly, I havent thought about that ARam thing in Game 5 in maybe 3-4 years. I completely forgot about that. It would have tied it in the 7th inning. Also, I definitely remember the Kerry HR, I just don't want to talk about game 7. Kinda funny that my 2 best memories of the NLCS (Sosas HR, Kerrys HR) came in losses :(
  20. I dreamt we got swept again last night. We played the D-Backs though, which is why I haven't hung myself yet. I KNEW IT! Deep down you are a pessimist! ;)
  21. Stranger things have happened than the Sox/Twins beating the Rays.
  22. I remember the NLCS like this Game 1: Quick start, Zambrano implodes (9 HRs allowed all season, 3 HR to 4 batters in game 1), Sammy ties it, Lowell wins it Game 2: Lots of HRs, why is Prior still pitching?, easy victory Game 3: Randall Simon!, Marlins rallies aplenty but no runs, Glanville triple, Castillo picked off Game 4: Aramis! Game 5: Scoreless duel, Marlins finally break through, Beckett awesome Game 6: Sammy RBI, run scores on WP, fade to black Game 7: When are they going to get around to playing that game? It's been like 5 years.
  23. Hey, town drunk is a job
  24. I'm pretty sure that Daley called him Crane Kennedy to mock Beluchi for screwing the name up. It seemed like he had a mocking tone in his voice when he said it.
  25. I remember when we made the 2003 NLCS, I was much more laid back than the NLDS, except of course during games 6 or 7. In a 7 game series, it just seems like there is much more room for error, so when you lose game one like we did, we don't immediately start pressing.
