  1. Yeah, I'd probably be upset for awhile. And then I would buy a brand new car to cheer me up with the 5 million im making this year.
  2. Snowed last night and rained a crap load during the day yesterday.
  3. One more stat. In Dome games (Superdome + Georgia Dome), the Saints have averaged 330 passing yards. In non-Dome games, they have averaged 278.2 yards. 52 yard dropoff
  4. FWIW, the Bears have been better at pass D the last few weeks now that Peanut is healthy and Graham is improving. 159 passing yards to Jax 200 passing yards to Min (including a 99 yard TD. So 101 on the other plays) 207 passing yards to St. Louis 227 to Green Bay These are all below the Bears season average. Granted non of these teams are exceptionally good at throwing the ball, but earlier in the season we were making people like Brian Griese look like Dan Marino.
  5. lol wut? Well DeRosa has hit like .650 against the Reds the last 2 years, I can see why they like him. 2007 - .510/.567/.667 2008 - .238/.385/.500 Same difference.
  6. I'll add a Saints fans stamp of approval onto this post. Saints are pretty much fried toast in games in those elements. Only consolation is that Reggie looks to be back from the DL playing very well and Pierre Thomas has never played as good as he has recently. Bears win. The Saints are going to stomp the Bears. Cold weather, unless accompanied by snow or rain, doesn't mean a thing. It is much harder to run a vertical passing game in the cold. Need to wear gloves or lose feeling in your hands, the football is hard, tougher to stay loose for the receivers. Not saying it is impossible, just that it would be crazy to think the Saints wouldn't much rather be playing in their dome than outdoors in Chicago. Fine but its irrational to think that the Bears passing defensive ranking jumps 20 spots if the temp at game time is 20 degrees or cooler. No more irrational than dismissing the Saints being 1-5 on the road. The outdoor cold night clearly plays in the Bears advantage in a game againt the dome-homed Saints. Yes, actually, its much more irrational. The Saints 6 road games were played against teams not named the Chicago Bears, who now currently have the 28th ranked passing defense. The cold might be an advantage, but not like the advantage of having the number one ranked passing offense versus the 28th ranked passing defense. Well they did lose to the 23rd and 27th rated pass defense on the road this season...(Atlanta and Denver) The Bears have also beaten the 5th and 6th best Passing Offenses this season (Philly and Indy) although the difference between them and NO statistically is pretty big.

  8. His agent isn't really needed for anything since we know he will waive his no trade already... And we already know that it will be after Thrusday, so... I wouldn't say that. There are some complications that would need to be talked about if an agent's player is traded. I doubt its as simple as saying " He said he's good with being traded to the cubs so just do it if you can, if you need me give me a call." So yeah, i would either take it as the deal is done or the trade has been tabled for later. Also he checked out, not left for lunch. Still, fax machines take care of that stuff in a second. I'm sure all of the trades that come pouring in at the last second of the trading deadline don't require physically meeting with their agents, since some of those deals come to fruition in like 5 minutes. True i see your point in that. There is an article on Mlbtraderumors.com saying that Peavy might be attracted more to the yankees now that they have CC. According to the article Axelrod said peavy might be interested in the yankees if they got CC. I wonder how long it will take before a NY post or new york writer posts an article saying that Peavy is considering the yankees or that the yankees are making a push for peavy. Its annoying but NY fans act like their teams are the only ones in the planet. Yeah, that's going to catch on quickly. Seriously.
  9. Ron Artest you mean. Axelrod was the one who threw the cup at him I believe. No, a year later there was an incident where a fan was bothering Davis' wife and he went into the crowd at the UC to confront him. Hmmm...actually it turns out that this Axelrod is actually Obama's campaign manager's son:
  10. Numbers don't tell everything...We'll lose tomorrow just watch So what tells you last year's defense was better? Our secondary didn't do the whole thing this year where they play well for 3 1/2 quarters and then the last 3min of the game they lose the game...I was wrong I get it, but u didn't prove much by those numbers that last year was much worse I didn't say last year was much worse. You said that last year it was better. And the last 3 minute issues is largely due to scheme issues in my mind. They need to be more agressive in those situations than they are.
  11. BTW, for some reason I just love the last name Axelrod. There are 3 Axelrods that I know of, Peavy's agent, Obama's campaign manager and the guy that Antonio Davis jumped into the stands to attack a couple of years ago. Just thought I should mention that.
  12. Maybe he just left for lunch or something.
  13. Total Yards 07: 28th 08: 17th Passing Yards 07: 27th 08: 28th Rushing Yards 07: 24th 08: 6th PPG 07: 16th 08: 16th
  14. He'll throw on us no matter what...Our chances would be better with wind, rain, or snow, but still our secondary sucks and he'll find every weakness Doesn't mean they will win because of it 2007: 35-60 320 Yards 2 TD 3 INT L 25-33 2006: 27-49 354 Yards 1 TD 2 INT L 14-39 yeah I know, but those were better Bears teams Last year's team with an aging and bad offensive line, Cedric Benson and the 29th ranked defense in the NFL was better than this one? The defense was a helluv a lot better than this one ?!? it was? I mean granted this year's defense isn't the 2005 Bears all over again, but have you looked at the numbers?

  17. ??? Wood just signed with the Indians yesterday. [/sarcasm] Did he, man i didnt realize that. I guess Philips might be off with his sources. I do believe him when he says that CC might resign with the Indians though, i mean that seems likely.
  18. This sucks, looks like its going to be somewhat warm and dry. When I first looked at the weather on Sunday it said the low was going to be 8, now the low is going to be 25.
  19. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/rumors/post/Mets-considering-Dodgers-Pierre-in-outfield-mix?urn=mlb,128188 Pierre and Castillo reunited at last!
  20. Well, Gammons seems to be wrong about 100% of the time too. Except when he's predicting the Dodgers to beat the Cubs in the first round of the playoffs :(
  21. http://blogs.dailyherald.com/node/1086#new LOL, we sit here refreshing this thread every 30 seconds for 5 hours this morning, get all these minor updates that suggest that a deal is getting closer, and then Bruce chimes in and sets us straight that almost nothing has gone on.
  22. Goodbye Mark. Ummm ... reading skills? He read it correctly.
