  1. That's a very sad fantasy. He's eligible at just about every position. That's what makes him so valuable. http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/3134/fantt.png Congrats on being the 1% of fantasy players that see the sneaky value of Aaron Miles.
  2. And the point of stealing second while down 4 with 2 outs in the inning is?
  3. I was going to respond with some snarky post about how even teams like the Giants get 6 runs quite a few times during the course of the year, but they have only done it 4 times in the first 24 games this season before today. And yes, they are 4-0 when scoring more than 6 runs.
  4. Meh, who cares if the Cardinals win. We weren't supposed to win this one anyways, we didn't and now we've only won 4 of our last 5 games. As long as we keep playing decent baseball, the Cardinals will be no match for us.
  5. Shark in his career: First 18 appearances - 22 IP, 1.23 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, 21 K, 8 BB Last 13 appearances - 9 IP, 7.00 ERA, 2.78 WHIP, 9 K, 9 BB
  6. I'm telling you, I don't think Shark is ready to be a full time major leaguer yet. He was brought up too early for the Cubs, and after an initial period of success last August he's been pretty bad since then.
  7. That just missed too. Would have been nice to see 3-2 score. Maybe Lincecum doesn't have his best stuff today.
  8. Lee just missed that. Good to see him driving the ball consistently though.
  9. I wish I asked this before Gathright singled but.... Worst 1-2 in recent Cubs history... Neifi Perez/Enrique Wilson Joey Gathright/Aaron Miles Corey Patterson/Neifi Perez Corey Patterson/Jerry Hairston
  10. Any chance of beating Lincecum with our reserve lineup ended pretty much. But you all already knew that. If we somehow win this, I'll be pretty damn impressed.
  11. Has he gotten a start all year? That's probably why. Not saying I agree with it but..
  12. So the players not playing today.. Alfonso Soriano Aramis Ramirez Milton Bradley Geovany Soto Ryan Theriot Reed Johnson Carlos Marmol Kevin Gregg This is the lineup the Cubs employed the day after they clinched the division last year... Fukudome Cedeno Hoffpauir Ward Fontenot Pie McGehee Hill Pretty close haha.
  13. Thank God it seems like he's ok. As much as we make fun of him here, its all in the fun of baseball. I hope he can make a quick recovery. But take all the time you need Rick...might be best to sit it out until next season :)
  14. The Cubs are back to a 91 win pace for the year
  15. I have a feeling we somehow pull off a couple of runs and beat Lincecum tomorrow.
  16. Stop messing around Gregg and get the last 2 outs.
  17. Demp really has had problems with the big inning this year huh?
  18. This is random. Maybe Hendry told him he had to replace Mark DeRosa's production this year.
  19. Yeah...I chose decent, but I was probably thinking of a word one level of certainty less than decent but couldn't think of it. He definitely has the potential to be as good as Wade...his numbers aren't all that different than Wade's rookie year (at a younger age), and if you could pick the superstar style that Rose plays the most like, in a lot of areas Wade would be a pretty good comparison. There is still obviously a long way to go until Rose is in Wade's stratosphere but he has a decent shot. But the whole point of my post was, because the Bulls have chosen to build their team around Rose (most likely), you cannot acquire a player that would stifle Derrick Rose. Wade is a great player and is probably the second best player in basketball, but for the Bulls a better choice to allocate their resources to would probably be the 15th best player (very relative ranking) Chris Bosh to put alongside Rose and hope that Rose develops into a superstar.
  20. Gah, we might not get anything out of this. You know, sometimes a basehit will do just fine.
  21. That's odd to see a lefty leading the league in BAA vs. righties. Makes me wonder why Bradley was hitting righty up there.
  22. Damn, if that doesn't hit him, it might be 1-0 Cubs. C'mon Lee, no DPs. Get something in the air.
