I always confused Brian Shouse and Seth McClung too. Whoops, I thought he was a righty too, but I clicked on his profile and saw L/R. I guess he hits lefty and throws righty.
Yes...one more inning...if we can't pitch him more than 83 pitches its going to be a long season for him... Well the only reason I ask is because he had less work than most other pitchers, so its not like he's in midseason form.
Its a good thing to get runners on, the more often you do that as a team, the more likely it is you break thru eventually. I know I know, just the frustration talking.
I'm trying to be level headed with this team this year.... But when they get 9 base runners in 5 innings and force the pitcher to throw 96 pitches in that time frame and only score one run, it gets frustrating. If they are going to lose, I'd rather them get beat 9-3 so I can think stuff like "well we aren't going to win every day"
I would have told Milton to take that, hoped he drew a walk and the Brewers brought in McClung (a lefty) to face Ramirez. But then again, Aram did have reverse splits last year, so maybe that wouldn't have been the smartest thing to do.
Remember that period in 2007 when Lee struck out looking like 6 out of every 10 at bats and generally speaking it looked like he was scared to swing the bat and he just hoped he could draw some walks to help the team? Yeah...
If Rich Harden can do it, I will at least leave it open as a possibility. But what you really mean is "cmon lee don't hit into a DP because we want Milton up"
That wasnt Theriots fault, thats on Soriano koyie hill has cost the cubs 2 runs by not knocking in theriot both times he was on base. Well Theriot is a .975 fielder lifetime, and Koyie Hill is a .189 hitter lifetime, but yeah same thing.
Highly unscientific but Theriot has already cost his pitcher 6 pitches in this game coming into the Looper AB. A pitcher that only throws like 90 pitches all game.
Marquis first start for the Rockies vs. the Phillies going on right now... So far... 3.2 IP 3H 2ER 2BB 2K He's also 1-1 with a RBI single and a run scored.
Some of the Brewers fans are commenting on how well Looper is doing....he has a 1.75 WHIP for the game and has thrown 75 pitches through 4 innings...can't see how that's called pitching well.
Flatter breaking pitches + lower quality of pitchers + quality pitchers more concerned with trying to prepare for the season rather than pitching to win the game + ball carries better in Arizona.
Yeesh....7 base runners in 4 innings and only 1 run scored on a solo HR. That's strike 4 on Hill you moron. Yeah you are so clever, you want to walk so that Harden is the one that screws up and ends the inning right?
It sucks when the bases are empty and 2 outs and a 1-2 count on an inferior hitter. You don't expect runs to be scored that inning and it really catches you off guard when it happens.
