    Fair point. But they do claim conference championships are important unless one team is unequivocally better. Maybe they think UGA is unequivocally. also not to get too far into transitive property but Texas beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa, while Georgia lost to Alabama at a neutral site that is almost a home game given the location (it’s in ATL right?)

    I don’t think they can play Georgia. Georgia is out with a UM win IMO. But yeah this sucks. Hoping the Texas H2H win allows them to get in over Bama if UM and FSU both win

    We are down to 2 relevant games remaining in the college football regular season and only 1 team can be considered a lock for the CFP. And that team was a double digit underdog in their conference championship game. predictions: UM, FSU win - 1 Michigan, 2 Washington, 3 FSU, 4 Texas UM wins, FSU loses - 1 Michigan, 2 Washington, 3 Texas, 4 Alabama UM loses, FSU wins - 1 Washington, 2 FSU, 3 Texas, 4 Alabama UM loses, FSU loses - 1 Washington, 2 Texas, 3 Alabama, 4 Georgia Obviously I’m not certain about any of this but I think it all feels logical. Georgia as a 12-1 non-conference champion should be in over Michigan if they started the week 1 and 2 and Georgia had a better loss.

    Obviously I want him to go to the Cubs, but if not the Cubs the Dodgers would be so boring and stupid for baseball. Oh great the Dodgers have Ohtani now, another west coast team with games on too late for most of the country to watch, oh great another superstar that will blend in with their collection of superstars. Oh great, the Dodgers move from World Series favorites to....World Series favorites. How exciting for the game.

    I want it, ridiculous contract and all because its not often that one of the greatest players in baseball history is available in FA for anyone to have and the Cubs apparently have legitimate interest. It might backfire horribly to sign a 30 year old to a 12 year ridiculous deal, especially not knowing what his pitching future is, but the dopamine hit for the first couple years would be amazing.

    I swore I wasn’t going to go obsessive on this but I just listened to the podcast and he literally even says “it’s only a guess but” directly before the quote you posted in the article. Like in the same sentence “it’s only a guess but I still think the Dodgers are going to wind up being the fit for him” is the full quote

    This guy has 25k followers, no idea if he knows anything, or what he's actually trying to say in his confusingly worded tweet. The Cubs made an offer, but it wasn't good enough and now its down to LAD and TOR? Edit: reading some of his subsequent posts, I'm not sure he knows much. Seems to be a Blue Jays guy

    I'm really trying hard to not be obsessive about the Ohtani stuff. Him signing with the Cubs seems too good to be true so I haven't allowed myself to get too excited at the prospect. But every day that goes by I have a harder time resisting the pull of going down the rabbit hole of obsessive rumor checking.

    Must have missed it, what are your theories? I'm trying to think of something that was not criminal actions, but severe enough for the Hawks to terminate his contract without NHLPA objections. The only thing I can think of is him caught saying something extremely offensive. Being a drunken buffoon is not enough to have his contract voided.

    Like I said a few weeks ago, I'd consider it a major disaster if we had the number 1 pick 2 years in a row and came out of it without either 1) Fields clearly proving to be the franchise guy or 2) a new potential franchise QB. At this point after year 3 and the rookie contract ending soon you cannot move forward with Fields if there is still this amount of uncertainty about his potential. The Bears almost never pick in the top 3 and the hope is that they won't be picking in the top 3 anytime soon. The ship is likely sailing for any shot to have a legit franchise QB for the next several years if you don't pick one this year. Sure maybe they take Williams or Maye and they don't turn out to be good...I'll take that risk over the possibility that one or both of them join Stroud as franchise QBs that were picked in the last 2 drafts when the Bears had the 1st pick both years. If the Bears were sitting somewhere around the middle of the 1st round, I'd probably stick with Fields for another year rather than draft a QB mid-first round or trade up. But we won't be picking in the middle of the 1st so to me that has to change the calculation.

    I know you asked me not to chime in but I haven’t even allowed myself to think about that scenario because I’m almost certain the McCaskey’s wouldn’t make that hire. Too much of a wild card that has no problem butting head with his superiors and likely wants more control than they are willing to give him. they claim to be desperate to win but they continue to use the same processes to hire the same lame ass coaches
