  1. 80/81 saves last four games. Sick. Makes me wonder how much of it is a budding superstar and how much of it is him not being out there long enough for teams to solve him. I think he's legit to some extent.
  2. My vote counts for more because I'm so awesome. A rather odd way to save face from everyone in this thread attacking your opinion. I'm not trying to save face. Just because everyone disagrees (at least those who voiced an opinion) with doesn't make me wrong. You have an opinion and I have opinion and we will likely never truly know who was right so there's no point in arguing anymore. But our opinions are backed with conclusive facts. Your only defense has been that Purdue has won the most Big Ten titles, and tied for 2nd since 1980 (a friendly year to pick for your argument). But ignoring the wave of evidence against you is ignorant. Remember you didn't say they were arguably the 2nd most prestigious team in the Big Ten historically, a statement that, while I'd strongly disagree with as would most of the board, I could accept as your inane opinion. But to say it without room for argument (which is the way you made the statement), you're slighting teams that have been to many more Final Fours and have won more National Titles than your squad. It just destroys any credibility you might have had as a college basketball fan.
  3. Wow Niemi was like 90 seconds away from 3 straight shutouts.
  4. LOL That was so close to a goal the lights started going off

  6. Sorry alumni, there will be no Michigan - Ohio State game this year, the Lady Gophers and the Lady Nittany Lions have a score to settle.
  7. Nobody cares about my other teams, but my 2 football teams (Bears and UM) have combined for a 10-15 record, but 0 of those wins are against teams over .500 currently. The best team recordwise beaten was Michigan's win over Notre Dame (6-6). If you want to take it a step farther, my fantasy team didn't beat anyone who finished with a +500 record either.
  8. Hawks right now = Cubs So then are they the Hocks?
  9. Not scoring on a 2 man advantage is like getting runners on 1st and 3rd with 0 outs and not scoring.
  10. I don't think the sequence itself should get him fired. I think the fact that a decent percentage of Bears fans accurately predicted that it was going to happen when Lovie called the timeout because we've seen it before.
  11. It's not a total lost weekend for the conference yet. DePaul is playing UIC as we speak!
  12. As badly as the Bears played, they could have won this. Cutler doesn't throw that INT that gets GB to the 10 yard line and leads to the go ahead score and the Bears might win. The Bears don't overpursue Grant on the first defensive play of the game and instead of a 62 yard TD who knows what would happen. It's the little things that killed the Bears in many games this year. We went 0-2 against the Packers, but in an alternate reality it could have easily been 2-0 Bears, and we could be 7-6 instead of 5-8. Oh well.
  13. I think it was because Alabama was blinded by the prestige of Purdue basketball.
  14. Because typo only means a misspelling? : an error (as of spelling) in typed or typeset material Merriam Webster seems to think so. He must have typo'd the word typo.
  15. Or President Obama. Oh wait that one actually happened
  16. How can you let Purdue cast such a huge shadow over the Purdue division? Purdue is historically the 2nd most prestigious program in Big Ten hoops. How can you put them in the Purdue division and then leave the Northwestern Division with such a competitive imbalance? Actually I see you didn't even include Northwestern in a division at all. Their women's team finished 4th in the Big Ten 4 years in a row from 1936-1940 and your just gonna ignore them completely?
  17. Dammit, I just realized that Wisconsin and Illinois are the two most prestigious fencing programs in the Big Ten historically. What are we gonna do about that?
  18. This is embarrassing. They will not have any say. You are the only person who remotely thinks so. Please stop. It's called equality in athletics and it weighs very heavily on athletic directors. Anyone who thinks the women coaches won't be demanding a say in the divisions, and causing problems if they don't get it, doesn't know how an athletic department works. Yeah but Indiana and Iowa have a huge men's wrestling rivalry, how are we going to account for that? What about Minnesota and Penn State and their epic women's gymnastics rivalry? Man this is gonna get confusing.
  19. I think the Bears were a little jealous when all they were hearing about is how many penalties the Packers were getting coming into the game.
  20. This is comical.
  21. And how many Final Fours and National Titles have they had since then? It's about the entire resume. No one's saying Purdue has been horrible, just that its extremely idiotic that you would single out Purdue as school that is more prestigious at basketball than schools like MSU that has won multiple national titles vs. Purdues mythical one in 1932, or Michigan who has been to 3 times as many Final Fours as Purdue has in it's history.
  22. That is about as ignorant as it gets. Vanderbilt has a whopping three SEC titles. They do however have the same school colors which is probably why you said that. I've got to say that is just an awesome reason and it really adds a lot of great wisdom to this thread. Your reasoning is sound but you picked the wrong Big Ten team with black and gold as their colors. I was actually in a mood to rile someone up after Cutler's second INT so I chose that. I was exaggerating a bit. They are more like the Texas A&M of the Big Ten.
  23. If were already predestined to lose this game, I'd love the Bears to lose in a situation where the extra TO is a big reason.
  24. Not if he catches it and makes a football move. Like taking three steps in the endzone? Haha yes. That what makes this TO+challenge thing even funnier. You saw the Packers get screwed out of a touchdown earlier in the game on a ball that was definitely a TD, even if your 100% sure of a catch, you are risking a lot of ridicule and losing 2 TOs by calling this.
  25. The announcers make this seem like it's the first time Lovie has done this.
