  1. Do you guys realize that San Jose was 16-2-1 in the previous 19 games before tonight?
  2. For the record, the answer is "probably not" now it is, please no buzzkill. there will be plenty of time to cut my nipples off when the hawks lose in the playoffs. tonight is for lovers. Sorry. I should have clarified. I meant the answer to your original post in this thread tonight.
  3. yup, and i would have been content with 5-3. if they handle business against carolina they'll go 6-2, which is pretty [expletive] badass It's nuts because the Hawks certainly haven't played their best hockey on this trip. But 6-2 says otherwise.
  4. For the record, the answer is "probably not"
  5. Yeah it's kinda weird, as I said above, this really is the only pressing thing the Hawks are playing for right now. The Hawks are 17 points ahead of Nashville for the division race, and the Hawks are 10 points ahead of Vancouver for 2nd place in the West. Losing a potential point gained is not the ideal result, but gaining a point is better than losing a point or two.
  6. I would have preferred a regulation win, but anytime you can come out of the so called "Shark Tank" with 2 points, it's a positive trip. Does that make it 5-2 on this trip with 1 to play?
  7. That's a Hawks winner!!!!!
  8. That was a weak attempt by Hossa.
  9. Dammit, now only 1 point to be gained on SJ tonight....blah. Since we've pretty much locked up the division, and no one really is in danger right now of leaping the Hawks for 2nd, it's a bit disappointing.
  10. Dammit. That goalie has made some great saves this period. YES! A power play to end regulation!
  11. Enjoy the game, marvel in the fact that the Hawks have the talent to win any and every game they are involve with, but know this that at anytime during the season you win ugly games, and lose pretty games. I don't mind the "over the top involvement" but save it for the playoffs. That's what I do. Partly because the freakin' Cubs gave me an ulcer, so watching hockey is pretty much relaxing for me. I'm enjoying this game immensely. Especially since we've evened up the play.
  12. The only crappy thing about taking it to OT is we would lose the opportunity to tie the Sharks for the West.
  13. Heatley
  14. The Sharks have dominated us physically in this game, or at least in the 2nd and early 3rd. I like our odds in OT with the 4 on 4 if we can get it there.
  15. I didn't think the game was over, but I figured getting spotted a 3 goal lead in the first 10 minutes of the game gave us good odds. I also didn't expect the Hawks to go without a goal the rest of the game so far. But there are some that immediately go into the "sky is falling, lets revert back to being Cubs fans" overreaction when the Hawks coughed up the lead. That crap gets annoying during the baseball season, don't need that overreaction in hockey season, too. A little over the top but we're involved emotionally and the Hawks have given us reason to have extremely high expectations this year.
  16. well i dont think anyone thought it was over, but there was reason to be very confident, considering the hawks have dominated the sharks pretty much every time they've met this season (even in the game they lost) I expected this one to be a little different than the previous meetings considering how especially well the Sharks have been playing lately.
  17. I didn't think the game was over, but I figured getting spotted a 3 goal lead in the first 10 minutes of the game gave us good odds. I also didn't expect the Hawks to go without a goal the rest of the game so far.
  18. C'mon get one through.
  19. Fantastic shift by Keith. Too bad nothing came of it.
  20. please don't bring your routine into this thread right now the situation calls for it. we look like we forgot how to play hockey. at least wait until after the game The game you already conceded before the period began?
  21. I started doubting after the recent stretch if the Hawks were the best team in the West. I was hoping this game would be a barometer. The first 10 minutes of the game looked very promising. The rest of the game has been anything but. But we are on the road and haven't been home for like 2 1/2 weeks. Also San Jose is probably the toughest place to play in hockey.
  22. Finally it's tied.
  23. We can't get control of the puck to save our lives. I would say 80% of this period so far the Sharks have controlled the puck.
  24. If the whole period is like this, it would take a minor miracle to win this.
  25. Why are they just dumping the puck every single time they have control in the neutral zone?
