  1. The last time I've seen a team from Iowa team choke this badly, they were playing Northwestern.
  2. DERRICK ROSE IS BACK!!!!! 12 points in his first 9 minutes back. Bulls lead Philly 21-14 early. Oh and he nailed two 3's so far. Watch out NBA DRose is back. Did you get the memo?
  3. Not related to the injury but I thought this photo was interesting: http://a.espncdn.com/media/apphoto/3ccf2949-4585-46f6-ae03-d4105ce93a10.jpg
  4. Dammit, when are the Cubs going to learn to stop relying on Prior and Woo- whoops, I forgot.
  5. Yeah, I'm usually horrible at brackets, so I'm enjoying the ride while it lasts. I can't believe almost all the upsets I picked while quickly filling out my bracket turned out to be right. Even the ones I lost on (like Florida) they had ample chances to win it.
  6. Tomorrow doesn't look that great in terms of matchups (by seed). The closest seeds that play tomorrow are 2 seed Kansas State and 7 seed BYU. Everyone else is strangely enough 8 seeds from each other. In contrast, Sunday's games include two different 4-5 matchups and a 3-6.
  7. 27 of 32 with all Sweet 16s and on left. I went 15-1 today (stupid Louisville)
  8. You gotta admit, it's kinda funny to see the Cavs only really try to win the game for a grand total of 5 minutes out of the 48 and come away with the win fairly easily at the end. LeBron sat for the first 6 minutes of the 2nd quarter, and the first 7 minutes of the 4th quarter. He remained seated when the Bulls came back to tie, and only when the Bulls took the lead with 6 minutes to go, did he get up to come back in. And when he stood up, it's not like they immediately called a time out. They waited calmly for a stoppage of action and in came LeBron. Within 5 seconds of him coming in the game, he already scored on an alley oop. In those 5-6 minutes to end the game he managed to put up 13 points, and turn a 2 point Bulls lead into a Cavs lead as big as 10 points. LOL
  9. Yup, if you want people to laugh at you behind your back.
  10. You say it like "strippers on the pitcher's mound for the 7th" is a bad thing?
  11. It's easy to say when you have no interest in going to Chicago (or leaving Dallas at all) Isn't it just as easy to say "Yeah, Derrick is a nice young talent, but the slide they are going through will taint them as a destination."? Yeah but why would Dirk randomly badmouth the Bulls, even if he has no desire to come here this season? Doesn't make sense and doesn't fit with Dirk's personality.
  12. Come on. This is a smarter baseball forum than most. You should see the difference. The Cardinals have upside talent around Pujols for the next few years that's either already locked into contracts, or still in arb years. St. Louis is a Baseball town and having the best player in the game is not lost on ownership or the fans. Franchise players rarely leave their teams in their peak years if the team can afford to resign them, which the Cardinals can. I understand that he could go to another team if something crazy like a 350 million dollar contract is offered, but I just don't see it getting to that point. I think St. Louis signs him to an extension before opening day 2011. Yeah but I mean there was a point where all those things you said applied to Ken Griffey Jr. except for Seattle being a particularly great baseball town and yet he left. Pujols has probably a less than 1% chance of being traded at this point, but you never know.
  13. That's what she said. Ironically that's my league's name. I'm in a H2H league with 9 players, so we desperately need 1 more and don't want to open up the league to a public player. It's pretty standard league, scoring is R, HR, RBI, SB, OBP, SLG for hitters and W, SV, HLD, K, ERA, WHIP for pitchers. I've done this league for 3 years and it's a mix of people from Cubs fans, to Tigers fans, to Red Sox fans, to even a Rays fan. Everyone tries hard and sticks with it all year so it's a competitive league. There is a $20 buy into the league with the 2nd place team getting their money back and the winner getting the rest. The biggest thing is that the league drafts THIS SUNDAY at 4pm CST. So if you are interested or know a friend who needs a league, let me know. I really don't want to have to open up the league to the likes of the public on Yahoo.
  14. Wow, I completely stopped following the standings during the 3 game losing streak. I just assumed that the Sharks were running away with the 1 seed.
  15. I completely forgot the Hawks were playing tonight until just now.... Good to see we're actually winning for now.
  16. It's easy to say when you have no interest in going to Chicago (or leaving Dallas at all)
  17. Wow Big East. The Pac 10 has won as many games as you. And they've only had one attempt to win a game so far.
  18. wow. i think q has a right to whine considering he keeps losing defensemen to dirty hits Yeah I am all for physical play but when we lose defensemen in consecutive games to questionable hits, Q has a right to be pissed. The Ducks are going nowhere and the Hawks are supposedly contenders.
  19. Wiz got 8 games....
  20. Yes you are. What do you think a Chicago sports talk station is going to talk about? Former well liked Blackhawk gives ex-teammate a cheap shot, injuring one of our starting defensemen one game after another player who plays the same position is injured by another semi-cheap hit, or Blackhawks player gives another teams player a cheap shot and other player is left uninjured.
  21. The Millar fluff piece in the Trib today is nausiating.
  22. Combined Chicago sports losing streak is 12 I think. It's been so bad I'm just not even watching the Bulls or Hawks. I flipped over to the game a couple of times to see the score but the less I think about the losing streaks the happier I generally am.
  23. Guess what Tom Petty song I have in my head right now. 1-3 vs. Anaheim this year yuck.
  24. Another Bear jersey of mine goes from the active player pile to the former player pile. That's what I came here to post. What a terrible jersey purchase. I bought it right before the 2006 season after his big 2005 season. I wore it through 2007 and then after that it was really too embarrassing to wear. I think my most stable jersey has been my Robbie Gould jersey. Sensing Vasher was quickly becoming unusable, I bought a Briggs jersey after he resigned with the Bears 2 years ago. It will probably be in the safe zone for another couple of years.
  25. Geez, the Blackhawks are turning into the Bulls with all their depth crushing injuries. What a crappy couple weeks of Chicago sports. *waits for sulley*
