  1. Stat of the day: Ryan Theriot has more hits this season than Derrek Lee and Aramis Ramirez combined (32 vs. 29)
  2. That's so weird that he wrote an article about high priced sluggers that are starting the season in a slump and he didn't include Pujols. Doesn't he know Albert hasn't had an IBB in 6 games?
  3. The last line by the reporter was funny "you did NOT let luongo hear that did you?"
  4. More like 84-(-2)
  5. I have Pens in 5, Bruins in 7, Wings in 6, and I don't think I can comment on the other series other than I think it will go 7.
  6. So Rose is worse at what the Celtics need, but he'd make the Celtics better? Yeah because Rose is damn good scorer which would offset not having the ability Rondo has.
  7. Apparently the people who were arguing about it.
  8. See I think it was a poor argument to begin with. I think Rondo would make the Bulls terrible, but only because if you take Rose off the Bulls, who is scoring for you? Rondo is a decent scorer but he's not the type of scorer Rose is. Who is Rondo going to pass to? How many times did Rose kick it out to wide open teammates only to see them brick it? Too many. Now, if you swapped Rondo for Rose on the Celtics, I am not sure how much better they would be. I think Rose would make them slightly better, but what makes Rondo work well is he distributes the ball well and he plays good defense, which I think the Celtics need more than another scorer.
  9. Wow where was this energy all game.
  10. Spoke too soon. This one is not over yet. Wow
  11. Assuming they hold on....the 4 seeded Penguins have home ice advantage until the Cup Finals. Also, the Blackhawks would now have home ice in a Stanley Cup finals. Amazing that the 4,6,7,8 all advanced to the 2nd round. Penguins have to be liking their chances to get to their 3rd straight Finals.
  12. Wow. Montreal to the 2nd round.
  13. Wow that was crazy close to being 2-0 there.
  14. If Montreal were to hang on, this is simply a stunning upset. I know President's Trophy winners have been ousted in the first round before but how many of them blew 3-1 series leads?
  15. I would agree that LeBron is a better player the way the NBA is structured than if he played with the exact same players and teams but with international style ball. However, LeBron would still easily be the best player to play in that league and it probably wouldn't be much of a debate.
  16. That's insane that Detroit not only has 1 days rest between finishing their 1st round and starting the second round, but they have 1 day notice of a scheduled game. Meanwhile, the Hawks have been done since Monday, and the Canucks since Sunday, and they are starting their series 2 days later. I know SJ has been off the longest, but that's a bit strange.
  17. I know most of this is just angry bickering by a Bulls fan but I liked reading this: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/385446-cavsbulls-officiating-is-prime-example-of-why-the-nba-is-losing-fans
  18. I'm assuming that pick will be a 6th or 7th rounder, considering the fact that they were about to release him.
  19. Interesting. What are your thoughts on these changes: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big_league_stew/post/MLB-adopts-four-recommended-rule-changes-to-All-?urn=mlb,237417 I think they are ok changes. I don't like how big the rosters are getting. Usually 2-3 pitchers a year pitch the sunday before the game. That's 8 more roster spots this could add to the game if you include the added roster spot. I just don't want the All Star game recognition to be as meaningless as the Pro Bowl where the league is calling random players the week before the game to see if they can play.
  20. Shut up about Rondo. Rondo is Rondo and Rose is Rose. Stop trying to pretend like they are comparible.
  21. The next round is going to make for some great hockey because I think it's really going to be a coin flip to see who wins these series. Home ice might make all the difference, but maybe not seeing as all 4 teams that advanced clinched their series on the road.
  22. I think we could probably work out a Lee for Pujols swap with St. Louis, since both players are heading to the scrap heap anyways. Maybe they just both need a change of scenery. As for Aramis, I guess we should listen to what esteemed hitting coach Mark McGwire has to say. And after talking it over with him, he said he doesn't want to talk about the past. I think what he's saying is that we should ignore the other 10 seasons of data that suggest he won't hit .152 this year, and DFA him immediately.
  23. On Sunday the Cubs scored 12 runs against the Brewers. The next series against Washington they scored 8 runs. I think those numbers are correct. I'd be lying if I said I'd paid too much attention to our lovable losers lately.
  24. I'm not saying you are wrong, or that Theriot was right in swinging at the first pitch, but on a scale of 1-100 how intentional do you think that walk was? I'm not watching but I assumed with first base open and 2 outs, a 4 pitch walk was probably less control issues and more pitching around to get a force at 1st, 2nd and 3rd. teams generally do not put the winning run on via a walk. True...but with the Riot up and 2 outs, it might be one of those exception to the rule types. On gamecast, none of the pitches seemed close.
