  1. Apparently the Hawks had to pack last night to go from Game 6 in Vancouver to San Jose for game 1 and 2 of the WC finals. I guess that makes sense because I expect the start of that series to be on maybe Thursday or Friday if the Hawks were to win game 6.
  2. Yeah but you gotta wonder how much of that is due to small sample size, or if it has to do with playoff pressure, because all across the league the road teams have been winning more than the home teams. That said, part of me finds it hard to believe the Hawks can take all 3 Vancouver games. But I guess when you've already won the first 2 you feel a lot better about your chances for the third.
  3. Weird, I'm the other way around. Well I wouldn't say confident we get by them, but I feel we can skate with San Jose. I'd give it basically 50/50 odds.
  4. Good observation. I was at the game so I didn't notice this but that's interesting because people were remarking in the first few games how close to the net he was playing. Hopefully the Hawks can make the proper adjustments before the next game.
  5. Absolutely. As someone said, watching Dallas hugging/crying with his grandmother after the game (once we found out what happen to the mother) was a great and touching moment. In a humorous side note, I heard that the grandmother was overheard saying 'Stick it, A-Rod'. I thought you were kidding about this but I saw it for myself in an article. Wow.
  6. that was probably before they found out he was born in 1977. Born in 1977 to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Pujols. Actual first player to be born in the 80's and play in the MLB: C.C. Sabathia Wasn't the immortal Todd Van Poppel the first player born in the 70's to play in the MLB?
  7. In all seriousness, I'm not not worried, but I'm not overly worried either. Vancouver is a really good team, and Luongo has stretches where he's a really good goalie. It is just tough to beat this team 4 times in a row. It sucks that Vancouver is now very much alive, but we still have 2 more chances to finish them off. The good thing is the Blackhawks have responded well when their backs were to the wall in the playoffs, so I don't worry too much about pressure effecting them even if they get taken to a 7th game. We have a 3-2 series lead, and if we had lost game 4 and won game 5, no one would obviously be upset, so let's not be upset until we have something to be upset about. BTW, does anyone think the Vancouver Defensemen had a hell of a game tonight? They got their sticks on a lot of passes, and really killed some of the better chances the Hawks had. The good news is I am not worried about them being able to do that 2 more times this series, just as I have to assume that Luongo is not going to be as good as he was tonight.
  8. No sweat guys, we got Prior and Wood going in the next 2 games.
  9. Marshall gets lefties out better than Dempster. So it was a tough decision that could have gone either way.
  10. bad storm coming in the next few minutes?
  11. I agree. Derek Lee stinks badly. Look at these career numbers: http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/l/leede01.shtml
  12. Assuming the Blackhawks can finish off Vancouver (I can't believe I'm saying that already), in your opinion how would you predict a SJ-Chi series to go with SJ having home ice? I feel like the Hawks always play the Sharks well, and both teams appear to be playing their best hockey right now. let me think about it, I still have a lot of emotion blinding judgment so not sure I would make a good prediction. I mentioned this during the season sometime but will say it again. San Jose has had issues in the play offs but so has Quennville coached teams in my opinion. Good call. I probably shouldn't have asked you to predict a playoff series between the team that just beat you in the playoffs, and your historical biggest rival just minutes after getting eliminated.

  14. 300 level is the nsbb of hawks boards. They are super critical and negative about everything.
  15. Lu shaved his playoff beard apparently. I guess to change his fortunes. Also here's a quote from O'Brien:
  16. Weird...the Cubs are 0-6 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this month and 6-0 on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday this month. Also, they have won 7 consecutive games during weekend series (Friday-Sunday)
  17. Awesome! you get seats or SRO? I managed to find a pair on ticketmaster in the 300 level about an hour before the game tonight. If you want to go, I would definitely suggest going on ticketmaster tonight and tomorrow as many times as you can stomach, because the word on the street is that there have been plenty of tickets released the day before all these playoff games. If you search for tickets and nothing comes up, search at least 3-4 more times because sometimes that's what it takes to successfully pull the tickets up. If you do it more than like 8 times and nothing comes up, nothing is available at the time. Try a few hours later.
  18. I think they will have fight. No team wants to get pantsed like this and not do anything about it. Of course if they get behind early, doing anything about it might mean more goonery. Honestly, deep down I really thought the Hawks would lose this series. Not that the series is over, but its looking like I'm dead wrong. Something for some reason just clicked 10 minutes into game 2 and they've been great more often than not since.
  19. That was a bullet!! AND A DAGGER! HAWKS WIN!!! Can't believe I managed to get tickets for game 5, and now I have a chance to watch some handshakes.
  20. Haha, the VS commentator accidently (presumably) called this game a win by the Hawks already. [expletive] there's a goal 6-4.
  21. I have to admit, I hadn't really noticed his crappiness since the first couple shifts tonight. I posted that because he just had a horrible turnover in the Hawks zone.
  22. Are you sure they aren't just booing him now? Or maybe Luol Deng was spotted in the audience.
  23. It's like Jim Hendry is paying Jordan Hendry to suck really bad so the spotlight is off him being the worst Hendry in Chicago sports.
  24. Thank god Kopecky decided to actually play a little this year. There was a time this year when Q was considering scratching him for a stretch of games.
