  1. Hey he actually caught this one. Nice throw Byrd. Sneaky arm.
  2. *cue the poster that randomly despises Dempster* *also cue the poster that always complains about the opponents scoring right after the Cubs do*
  3. It's weird to see a Cardinals CF wearing number 15 go back on a fly ball and its not Edmonds.
  4. Interesting. Rangers have what? A 6 game lead in the division? Gonna be tough to make up. Wild Card I don't think is any better.
  5. I'm definitely not in love with their farm system. But then again we probably wouldnt get any of their top prospects for 2 months of Lee anyways, assuming that's who you are referring to.
  6. Exactly. The guy is going to be the 5th big man in the Bulls interior rotation. All you're really looking for in that role is some toughness and a guy who isn't going to be a liability out there for ten minutes a game. If the alternative is Chris Richard or Josh Boone or someone along those lines, I think the Bulls did just fine here. Yeah but he's also the 'holy crap omer asik kind of sucks' backup plan. Decent chance he is our backup center. Big downgrade from Noah. I wish one of our centers was a more traditional type scorer. But I guess since we have Boozer its a little more acceptable. Can Kurt Thomas hit a midrange jumper? What team actually has a good backup center? The Magic do. Other than that, I can't really think of a team that has one. Thomas has made a living out of hitting baseline shots and midrange jumpers. Well to be honest I'm not necessarily looking for "good", just adequate. We all know how awful a bad center looks like. I can't handle us giving 15 minutes a game to a stiff. Miller resigning would have made me ecstatic because I really liked the change of pace he gave vs. when Noah is out there.
  7. I'm pretty sure it was 2 teams playing 2 teams. Cubs/Umps vs. Cardinals/Theriot
  8. Don't worry Cash, I hear this guy isn't that good. Just throw 3 by him
  9. Soriano can't even get a sac fly again. This is why Hendry should be fired.
  10. Jim Hendry's job is on the line in this AB by Soriano here.

  12. That's extremely interesting. Can we somehow trade Campbell for Versteeg and Ladd? lol...
  13. Kurt Thomas is a Bulls, joining the ranks of P.J. Brown, Antonio Davis, Othello Harrington, and Malik Allen as washed up big men that act as veteran mentor on the team.
  14. I thought that the Knicks don't have their 1st rounder for like 3 of the next 5 years or something. Edit: Just looked it up. Houston has the right to swap their 1st round pick with New York's next season, unless the Knicks pick is #1 overall. They also don't own a 2nd round pick next season. In 2012, they owe Houston their 1st rounder, but it's top 5 protected. Assuming getting CP3 would keep the Knicks out of the lottery, they wouldn't be able to trade a 1st round pick until 2014 (because the new rule about trading consecutive 1sts)
  15. Kosuke wasn't considered a prodigious home run hitter. I don't know what prodigious is in Japan, but he hit a HR every 16.27 ABs his last 4 seasons in Japan. That'd probably put him in the top 10 in the MLB this year. It would not. For reference, Dunn is 10th in the majors with a HR every 15.3 AB. You all suck. Fine. Kosuke was an above average HR hitter in Japan, compared with the HR rates of typical MLB hitters. I wish I could find Japanese baseball stats so I could hopefully see 16.3 amongst the best in the league so I could run back here and rub it in your faces.
  16. I don't know why everybody is convinced that LeBron is going to Miami. He's not leaving Cleveland. Fixed for 3 weeks ago. Completely different situation. Melo isn't a free agent. And won't be until after a forthcoming lockout. He has no idea how much money he'll be able to get after that after whatever the new CBA says.... He has an extension offer on the table in Denver. He'll take the sure thing. Will he? I don't think any of us know that. It's not really safe to assume that the athlete will make the logical decision after what we've seen over the last couple of weeks. That's not even a slight at LeBron but more so a guy like Richard Jefferson, declining his $15 million player option, only to return to the same team at a far reduced rate. Plus, 'Melo has a New York state of mind! What RJeff did made sense. He turned $15 million in guaranteed money to I think $38 million in guaranteed money. With the CBA expiring after this season and 2 disapointing seasons in a row under his belt, there was no guarantee that he was making anywhere near $38 million in his next contract.

  18. I'm going to cry, and tape myself crying, and then post the video of me crying on NSBB if he goes to the Knicks.
  19. I don't think it needs to be as big of a deal as these people are making it, but it is awesome to see all these greats basically ripping Wade and James for teaming up together. They can be as cocky as they want to but that has to hurt them a little hearing people like Jordan and Magic publically decry this arrangement.
  20. Chicks dig the sac fly, and Soriano will be paid like the KING of sac fliers.
