  1. The market changes every year. No one got paid a couple of offseasons ago. Except Milton Bradley.
  2. I mean yeah I want them to lose more games than they win too. Especially to protect us against our hard schedule. But I'd prefer they win the East and the Giants fall to the WC or worse.
  3. We definitely need to be cheering for the Eagles (somewhat) and against the Giants. The Giants are obviously a worse WC team for us to match up against because they have the H2H tiebreaker over us. But a couple of reasons why I think we should cheer for the Eagles to take the East. 1) We have the tiebreaker over the Eagles so if we tie in records, we will get the higher seed. Much more likely to get a bye in this scenario than one where the Giants are the East champs. 2) The Packers and Giants still have to play each other, thus guaranteeing that one of those scenarios will help us in one of our two playoff races (Division or WC). If you think about it, the Bears are 2 games up on EITHER the Giants or Packers for a playoff spot. I am going to pretend that the Bucs will fade and not be a factor because its more likely than the other teams fading. So basically because the Giants and Packers play together, unless they tie which is highly unlikely, it is impossible for both to run the table. So either the Packers or Giants might as well be 7-5 right now and the other 8-4.
  4. One year stop gag till Adrian and who cares. For one he's righty. For another, it won't be for a year. There was a report the orioles offered him a "significant offer" yesterday.
  5. lol and maybe one year we'll actually get that lefty bat.
  6. I was interested so I checked out that site you just posted. Under the Bears page there are several pictures of Bengals gear that is label as Bears gear.
  7. I spent way too much time trying to make wacky scenarios where afterthought teams somehow end up with 1st round byes. My first one I did had 1. Bears (12-4) 2. Falcons (11-5) 3. Cowboys (8-8) 4. 49ers (8-8) 5. Buccaneers (10-6) 6. Vikings (9-7) 1. Dolphins (11-5) 2. Texans (10-6) 3. Ravens (10-6) 4. Raiders (9-7) 5. Patriots (11-5) 6. Jaguars (10-6) Then I did another one just the AFC where I had 1. Jets (13-3) 2. Jaguars (10-6) 3. Browns (9-7) 4. Broncos (8-8) 5. Dolphins (10-6) 6. Titans (9-6-1) Gotta love Titans @ Browns and Dolphins @ Broncos first round matchups.
  8. every team in the avenue of professional sports has idiots who say things they can't back up. willy taveras said he was going to steal 100 bases last year, that's just indicative of him being an over-confident athlete rather than emblematic of some collective franchise-wide divorce from reality or whatever the [expletive] your dumb ass narrative actually is If I noticed a bunch of Astros players making a bunch of dumb mostly unattainable guarantees that all don't come true, I'd probably make a list of them too out of entertainment. That's what I do, I look for funny patterns and point them out for entertainment purposes. The only reason you take offense to this instance is because you are irrationally defensive about the Lions for some reason and have some sort of insane vendetta against me that I find hilarious.
  9. It is. But all of you need to stop talking about this before I cry. I don't even know what I would do. If it happens, we'll take up a collection to get you started with some Bears gear. Eff that. If I have to take up a new team I'm going with the Browns. Why not the Lions? Yeah you never have to worry about getting your heartbroken as a Lions fan. Unless of course you take their guarantees to heart.
  10. I was thinking the same thing too. Everytime one of these bozos make a guarantee against us I do tend to worry that they are gonna back it up with the most determined game of their lives.
  11. LOL. Don't be pissy because your team blows every year and has idiots who say things they can't back up. I put together that list because it entertains the hell out of me and many other people. Is the game getting blacked out in Detroit this weekend?
  12. The bulls had only 21 rebounds tonight which is the least in Bulls history. The old record was 25 so we shattered it tonight. They were out rebounded 44-21 tonight. Ouch.
  13. Don't forget we have Oklahoma City and the Lakers at the beginning of next week.
  14. Howard is such a big, physical guy that I wouldn't be surprised that a lot of contact that he makes is considered flagrant despite no intention. He's just so big making contact with him is different than making contact with someone like Tyson Chandler. I remember Shaq used to get the same complaints.
  15. It's not that type of arbitration. It's pre-FA arbitration. So does that mean that if the Cubs offer it there's no accepting it, and if they don't offer it then he becomes a FA?
  16. Guys, maybe he won't accept. /sarcasm Actually I'm surprised that the article didn't say "Cubs offer arbitration to Marmol, Soto, Gorzelanny, Marshall, Baker, and Hill. Hill immediately accepted and started dancing around the room."
  17. 2006 - In Week 2, Roy Williams guarantees a victory over the Bears in Week 2 at Soldier Field. The Bears win 34-7 and after the game Williams talks about how close they were to putting up 40 points on the Bears. 2006 - After the game in Week 2, Williams told reporters, "You can all run with this: We will win the (next) game." That game was in Week 16, and the Bears won that one as well despite playing only one half with their starters. 2007 - In the preseason, Kitna proclaims that the Lions, coming off a 3-13 season, are going to win 10+ games in the upcoming year. He looks prophetic when the Lions begin the year 6-2, including 2 wins over the previous year's NFC Champ, the Bears. However, the team randomly collapses and loses 7 of its last 8 games to fall 3 short of Kitna's prediction 2007 - Tommie Harris remarks that "Detroit don't come into our stadium and win." The Lions come into Soldier Field and win 16-7. 2009 - Coming off an 0-16 season, Kevin Smith has this to say about his team's chances in the upcoming season: "I won’t make a prediction about how many games we’re going to win, but I will say this: We will definitely make the playoffs this season. Believe it or not we weren’t far off last year. Almost every game we could have won, we were one play or one player short." Detroit goes 2-14. 2010 - Despite injuries to their 1st and 2nd string QBs, leaving the inexperienced Drew Stanton to start, an undeterred Nate Burleson guarantees his 2-9 Lions will be victorious over the 8-3 Chicago Bears. Outcome of his guarantee TBD.
  18. BTW, Burleson has a history of making crazy guarantees of victory. Last year, he guaranteed that his 3-5 Seahawks team would beat the 5-3 Cardinals in Arizona. Didn't work out so well for him that year, as they lost 31-20. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/11/10/nate-burleson-guarantees-victory/
  19. Umm... . http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/12/lions-wr-burleson-guarantees-victory-over-bears.html Why is it that everytime we play the Lions, someone guarantees that they will beat us. And they never do.
  20. I heard they were working out guys like JP Losman earlier in the week just so they could have someone thats played in the NFL there to back up Stanton. If we don't blow out this team, we are either looking ahead too much or there's something really wrong.
  21. They project us losing the NE, Minny and GB games. But seriously, why is there a sentiment that the Vikings are all of a sudden a tough game? Because they dropped a whopping 17 on the Redskins? Coaching change. They think it's going to have the same results as it did in Dallas because the teams have similar talent. Of course, Dallas' momentum only lasted for 2 wins. 2 wins, plus a close loss to the Saints that they would have won if Roy Williams could catch the ball.
  22. That would be weird to lose the Vikings as a division rival. No offense to the Lions but they are barely a rival at this point. As annoying as the 2 teams are, I look forward to the 4 annual meetings against the Packers and Vikings each year. The Rams wouldn't be the same.
  23. Ok, online if you change your name to UniversityofMississippiCub
