  1. whoops wrong thread
  2. Tied up 1-1...couldnt escape the period with the lead. Dammit. Play has been fairly even today
  3. Do other teams have as many issues clearing the puck or are the Hawks alone in that regard?
  4. Jesus, apparently ESPN ripping endlessly on VCU gave them a bit of motivation.
  5. PP Goal!! 1-0 Hawks. So happy to get on the board first.
  6. This is how it could look if my extremely pessimistic projection pans out, the next time the Hawks step on the ice after today: 4. Phoenix 93 75 5. Nashville 88 74 6. Los Angeles 87 74 7. Calgary 86 75 8. Dallas 85 72 --------------------- 9. Anaheim 85 72 10.Chicago 84 72 And considering how everyone in this race has been lights out lately, and considering some of the matchups going on, its not a stretch that this would happen if we lost tonight. It's probably not as bad as it seems. Calgary will continue to have 3 more games played than us, so at only 2 points ahead of us, we might as well have their playoff spot.
  7. Ignoring games in hand, which are very important of course, but Calgary and Anaheim, the 9th and 10th teams in the west play tonight. This means that if the hawks do not get at least 1 point tonight, they will find themselves out of the playoffs at the end of the night. I'm pretty sure that since the hawks last played on Thursday, every single thing that occured has gone against the Blackhawks interests. Plus, after today the Hawks have another 2 days off between games, so (again ignoring games in hand), the Hawks will surely be playing catchup from 9th or 10th place even if they win tonight.
  8. Yeah, I was hoping for kick out to Novak for a three. Can't blame Morris for the shot, but there were def a couple M players open for a 3. I cant blame Morris for the shot, but when you are a good 3 point shooting team and a heavy underdog and you can beat Duke by hitting a 3, you have to shoot that. The chances of beating Duke in an OT are what 35/65? Which is about the odds of hitting a 3 there.
  9. Damn, should have shot a 3. Fantastic ending though. Can't complain about having a chance to goto OT or win against Duke. Would have been amazing to win though. The future is bright for UM....of course thats what I thought after losing ok OU 2 years ago.
  10. If only Michigan could hit a single 3 pointer in the entire 2nd half they might be in a good position.
  11. Yup...I'm really impressed by Smotrycz. Only a Freshman, should be a solid contributor next year
  12. And Duke with their 7th and 1 in a row
  13. Tim Hardaway Jr getting destroyed by a killer crossover is a touch of irony isnt it?
  14. Been waiting for this run to happen. Duke is unstoppable right now.
  15. I'll definitely take it. They have looked good.
  16. 22 combined PFs in the first half. 8 players have 2 fouls (5 on Michigan). Duke with 14 FTA, Michigan with 5.
  17. OH COME ON. Swallow your whistles for 2 seconds jeez
  18. No ones bitchin but you
  19. They have destroyed UM with their size. Good shooting and heads up plays have kept Michigan in the game, but they arent gonna hit 50% of their 3's for the game.
  20. Welp UMs best player in foul trouble now. Gotta keep hitting 3 pointers on every possession to stay in this game
  21. With Duke's size, I was really hoping this wouldnt happen.
  22. Not a surprise but Duke looks 3035 times more talented than UM
  23. Anaheim won last night over Dallas (in OT of course so both got at least a point) If the Hawks don't win tonight they will likely find themselves in 9th or 10th place the next time they take the ice.
  24. I believe they will too. I just don't want to sweat it out.
  25. God dammit every [expletive] team wins every damn game in the West race. Today, Nashville beat Detroit, now Dallas lost in a SO against Philly. You'd expect those teams to take care of business. Also Anaheim and LA are playing each other so one team will get 2 points. Hawks are now tied for the 7th/8th seed and 1 point ahead of Calgary for being out of the playoffs (but 2 games in hand) If Anaheim wins tonight they will also be one point behind the Hawks but with equal games played. Phoenix is 5 points ahead of the Hawks for the 4 seed (2 games more), if LA wins tonight they will be 3 points ahead of the Hawks (1 game more), Dallas is 1 point ahead of us with 1 game more. The Hawks absolutely need to win tomorrow. If they don't they'd better start sweating. A road game against Phoenix, who is red hot, does not look promising.
