  1. What's the math regarding that after this game? i don't know exactly, but i know we clinch a higher seed than miami by going 3-3, and a higher seed than boston by going 4-2 (unless we beat boston). that's assuming those teams win all their remaining games Basically, beat Boston and it's over without a complete meltdown Yup, if we beat Boston and go 0-5 in our other games, the Heat and Celtics would have to go 5-1 in their other games to finish ahead of the Bulls (The Celtics would win the tiebreaker over Bulls in that scenario by virtue of a better conference record).
  2. Now only 1 game behind SA too, and if we beat Phoenix in our next game, we will likely have the tiebreaker.
  3. I still think they were told to attack Maholm early in the count today, at least in their first ABs. And it worked because they were smoking the ball...just at the Pirates. They worked the count fairly well on Opening Day.
  4. Sigh. Not the same without Ronnie. Yup, I kept waiting for an "Alright!" after the DeWitt hit, but all I heard was silence.
  5. Dallas lost again tonight (to LA though). I think they are just about done. 5 points back with 5 to go. Hawks just need 5 points in their last 5 to eliminate them. San Jose is playing Anaheim right now which is a big game for seeding. Anaheim is 1 point ahead of us for 7th with equal number of games played (1 more after tonights game) We still have a pretty good chance to get a 5 seed or even maybe a 4. Nashville is 3 points ahead of us for 6th but 2 more games played, Phoenix is 4 points ahead, also with 2 more games. LA is 4 points ahead of us for 4th, but only 1 more game played, so we'd need some help for that 4 seed.
  6. Talk about hot and cold.....this is Toronto's second half: -Start the 3rd quarter by making 14 of their first 17 shots. -Then miss 10 in a row to end the 3rd and start the 4th. -Then make 11 of their next 13 shots. Overall 25-40 shooting in the 2nd half (63%)
  7. Was that Carlos Marmol at the game? Sweet
  8. He's Aaron milesing you guys.
  9. What are those hats that everyone is wearing lately? They are winter hats that are shaped like a bear and wraps around your head. I just saw a Bull shaped one too. Yesterday I saw at least 50 people wearing them, and now just watching on TV I can see a bunch of them.
  10. Another 3-0 green light? At least I like that one better than yesterday
  11. I'd have had more faith in him if I'd knew Meek was going to throw him 3 really hittable pitches in a row with a 1-2 count. Have no idea why he didnt send one down and away.
  12. Have you lived there for awhile? I can imagine it would actually suck after awhile. Since last August. I live on Wilton so it's actually pretty quiet but still close to the action. I just know whenever I've walked down to watch a game at Sports Corner or Murphys, its fun at first and annoying later because whenever there's a key moment I keep waiting for a cheer that never comes. I'm glad I can only vaugely hear the cheering when I'm standing on my deck.
  13. Have you lived there for awhile? I can imagine it would actually suck after awhile.
  14. lol, if it wasn't for the Pirates defense, we'd have 2 total runs all series. Thanks guys! Byrd is a pro, he knows the best way to get on is to hit it right at a Pirate :) 2 days in a row now.
  15. Any truth to the rumor that Starlin and Derrick Rose hung out all offseason together?
  16. In case anyone was curious....home game 2 attendances: 2011: 35,782 2010: 39,565 2009: 39,361 2008: 39,468 2007: 35,924 2006: 40,182 2005: 38,743 2004: 38,968 2003: 29,966 And before 2004 it was pretty common to have a good deal less than capacity in April.
  17. Sorry if this was posted earlier, but the paid attendance is 35,782 today
  18. We are all aware the Cubs are going to win like 11-2 tomorrow right?
  19. Never heard of that rule before. Good to know. :good: According to Bob, if the runner was on the move, the base is considering unoccupied and Soriano could have run. However, if the runner was holding at 1B, the base is occupied. I just explained this rule to my boss. He is at the game and sent me a text screaming about Soriano, lol. Meh, I'm sure he would have found another reason to boo Soriano anyways.
  20. Because he can't hit righties for the life of him
  21. So far in 16 innings we've gotten one RBI hit. Gotta be something like 1-9 with RISP
  22. I'm torn on this. Obviously having home court over the Spurs if they met in the WCF would be great and if there's a first-round upset, the Lakers would get that team instead of the Spurs/Thunder/Mavs in the second round. But if the favorites all win, I'd much rather play Dallas than OKC in the second round and Dallas and OKC are pretty much locked into the 3 and 4 seeds barring an epic collapse by Dallas. Hopefully the Bulls can lose a game or two so the Lakers would have home court in the Finals if the two teams met. There's no reseeding in the NBA playoffs. So, the 1 seed in the West will get OKC/Denver in the second round. I thought they changed that after the year when Golden State beat Dallas in the 8-1 matchup and then played the 4/5 while the 2 and 3 met up, but I guess not. Well, scratch that part out and I'm still torn on where I want the Lakers to finish. The only change they've made to playoff seeding lately is where they allowed one non-division winning to be seeded ahead of other division winning teams with a worse record.
  23. lol I was just about to say that Soriano was doing a good job that AB at laying off horrible pitches. Whoops.
