  1. And it was unlucky the Bears decided to play their starters the entire game. Yes they went really vanilla with their play calling, but the Bears could have easily played 3rd stringers the majority of the game and no one would have said anything.
  2. Yep, the Packers suck. Or something along those lines. Well it's still true no matter how many titles they luck into. Sure, it was total luck. By your logic it was "lucky" the Bears even made the NFC Championship because they got to play the woeful Seahawks. GB went on a great run, and played the teams in front of them. I don't know what else you would have expected them to do. Haha, its not my logic. I just said that to piss the Packers fans off. It doesn't even make sense.
  3. This was a no brainer. He was awful at times last year. Useless in all situations except pinning an opponent, which was was still decent at. Would be cool if Robbie Gould could somehow punt, so we could keep Brad for directional punts. Then again, as was mentioned before, that might entice the Bears to keep punting on 4th and short from the 40
  4. Just like the ECF. /beat SSR to the punch I knew someone would immediately say that but I was too lazy to type more on my iphone at the time.
  5. Good. Now it's time to defend that title. Yep, the Packers suck. Or something along those lines. Well it's still true no matter how many titles they luck into.
  6. We are the last team that needs someone who lists 'good returner' as part of his upside. Especially given the new kickoff rules. All the news out there suggests that the Bears won't be after a big named WR. If the Bears won't go after a big named WR in a year where they have a ton of money to spend, and there is an especially high number of names out there, they will never go for one. Sadly, most of the news suggests that they won't go after one. Now I am a person that believes you can win without an elite number 1 WR. But in a situation where you can afford one for a couple of years, why the hell not? Especially when your WR corps is really young and struggled in the NFC Title game last year against elite DBs (also a team that's on your schedule 2 times this year) Sidney Rice (6-4) Braylon Edwards (6-3) Mike Williams (6-5) James Jones (6-1) Plaxico Burress (6-5) TJ Housh (6-2) Malcom Floyd (6-5) Our WRs on the roster are: Bennett (6-0), Knox (6-0), Davis (5-9), Hester (5-11).
  7. I don't know about all time, but last year 5 out of the 17 runningbacks that gained 1,000 yards also had at least 500 yards receiving. Two others were above 450. Killjoy
  8. Tampa Bay has no choice but to spend. I believe the proposed salary floor for the next 2 seasons is 99% of the cap. If they spend well, they could have a very strong team the next few years. Wow, I knew there was a floor, but I didn't realize it was that high. Damn they are going to be interesting.
  9. Obviously, whatever makes the team better long term is ok with me, but I would hate to sell off our players to the Pirates of all teams after years of AAA jokes at their expense.
  10. I can see the Cubs getting one nice arm for Johnson like they got for Todd Walker a few years back. Was that Jose Ceda, who in turn got us Kevin Gregg? Yep. I'd be thrilled if we got a Jose Ceda-type prospect for Reed. Me too but, correct me if I'm wrong, Ceda wasn't really a high regarded prospect when we got him, it was something either our scouts got right on, or we got lucky with.
  11. Football outsiders (via ESPN.com) has an article saying that based on 'numerous metrics', Matt Forte is on par with Adrian Peterson. http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6783289/nfl-why-matt-forte-adrian-peterson-equal?addata=2009_insdr_mod_nfl_xxx_xxx
  12. From an article on ESPN.com, here is every team's projected cap situation: Tampa Bay 59.2 M Under Seattle 39.0 M Under* Arizona 37.3 M Under Chicago 37.0 M Under* Buffalo 35.9 M Under Cincinnati 35.9 M Under St. Louis 35.6 M Under Kansas City 34.3 M Under* Cleveland 33.3 M Under Jacksonville 31.4 M Under Carolina 30.6 M Under San Diego 19.4 M Under San Francisco 18.9 M Under Detroit 16.6 M Under Atlanta 13.9 M Under* Miami 13.6 M Under Philadelphia 13.0 M Under* New Orleans 11.7 M Under* Washington 10.6 M Under Tennessee 10.3 M Under Houston 7.6 M Under New England 7.6 M Under* Baltimore 5.3 M Under* Denver 1.0 M Under Green Bay 0.1 M Under* NY Jets 1.2 M Over* Indianapolis 2.7 M Over* Minnesota 5.1 M Over Pittsburgh 10.0 M Over* Oakland 10.0 M Over NY Giants 11.3 M Over Dallas 18.9 M Over The * designates a playoff team last year. Considering Seattle was a 7-9 playoff team, the Bears have 23.1 M more to spend than the next closest NFC playoff team from 2011, although clearly Tampa Bay could greatly improve themselves and were a team not far from a playoff spot last year. That said, I don't think TB is going to spend anywhere near at cap level.
  13. Sounds like Cutler flat out dumped her ass.
  14. I was just about to ask what people thought of signing Mebane. As much as I want Henry Melton and Matt Toeania to be capable of holding down the DT position, we could certainly benefit from an upgrade. I don't know much about Mebane though other than apparently he's a run stopper. Can he be the three technique DT for the Bears? He only had 1 sack last year, and 10 for his career (5 seasons). I know that's clearly not the end all for a DT but I wonder if he's only a run stopper.
  15. Not that it matters, but I read on RealGM that Rose scored 9 points which was apparently 2nd lowest on the team. He never seems to shine in these all star games. He saves it for the real games.
  16. We are now 3-3 against the Astros at Wrigley this year!
  17. Sending Castro against one of the worst strikeout hitters in the league? Also, terrible jump.
  18. I wonder if they are having Grabow warming up in the pen as a threat for the hitters to get the job done now.
  19. I'm still reading. This is just idiotic. Is he trying to compare 2 sports by comparing our National Team in the championship round of the most prestigious tournament of its sport against a league championship game between a US team and a west coast Canadian team? How about compare the US-Japan game with the US-Canada Gold Medal game last year? US-Canada: 17.6 Rating US-Japan: 8.6 Rating Soccer may very well be becoming more popular than hockey, but these arguments are so stupid its not even funny.
  20. I was just looking last night at the fact that Shark hadn't allowed an ER in his last 12 appearances. Oh well. Garza should be something like 8-6 but instead he's 4-7.
  21. Why the [expletive] does that middle paragraph need to be there? It's like he's trying be the worldly journalist teaching the small town inbreds about life outside of Williston, ND. Read that quote again but omit the middle thing. Why is it there? Also, why the hell is 'Ratings' randomly on the end of the paragraph?
  22. I mean it's not something I would do when they suck and I think they look stupid. But at the end of the day, it's entertainment and the people were entertained for a day. Let them sing and dance.
  23. Replace book with cell phone and that's pretty much what's done now. Anyways, I say we play the song only when we lose, but with modified lyrics. "Hey Chicago whaddya say? The number one pick is on it's way!" either that or "Albert Pujols (or Prince Fielder) is on his way!"
