  1. Sorry, this isn't Bears related but since we were discussing Bill Simmons, and I am obsessed with picking him apart: You mean other than the Grizzlies winning their first ever playoff game and series and coming 1 win from the WCF. Also the Preds won their first ever playoff series and played Detroit tough in the 2nd round. Finally, Bruce Pearl got fired. So no Bill, Tennessee has had enough good sports news over the last 4 frickin months.
  2. I cant wait to get my refund back on his column. Isn't Bill Simmons the guy who always skeptically notices when everyone is predicting one thing? Seems weird that he would notice how so many people were taking the under on the Bears that the O/U line shifted and call it the most obvious "grenade" ever and not take a step back and consider going the other way. Then again, he's the same guy that spent a chunk of his football podcasts talking about how the best teams this year are going to be the teams with coaching continuity from last year due to lack of offseason workouts, and in the same breath calls the Vikings, who have an entire new coaching staff and quarterback, a bounceback team with playoff potential.
  3. what? they won, right? Packers fans can never be satisfied. Remember back when Rodgers missed 1 game due to a concussion, and their fans were whining about how unfair it was that he got concussed
  4. How about complaining to Sean Payton for calling that play? Ingram didn't have a prayer on that play. I would have called that play if I was Payton. If he calls a pass and it ends up like the 4th down earlier in the game, he is crucified for the play call. If you are an NFL team and you want to beat the douchebag champions, you have to be able to run it in from 1 yard out.
  5. Why? Y'all are infinitely better than the Saints or something? I think the teams were pretty evenly matched going in and I think they still are. Agreed. A Colston fumble, a Payton playcall on 4th and 1 from the 7 and a goal line stand were the differences in the game. Saints gained more yards, had more first downs, had less penalties, etc. Should have won the game despite the Packers offense looking great most of the game.
  6. God Dammit. Great pickup that Ingram. Touted as the guy to solve the Saints goal line issues, gets stuffed several times during the game, makes Payton pass on 4th and 1 from the 7 that completely changes the game, and then gets stuffed on the final play of the game from 1 yard out. I realize it was more the Saints blocking and Packers D on that particular play but still. Not very impressive at all. Packers lucked out. Offense won't be that good every week and if their D plays like this they aren't gonna win the division much less the Super Bowl. Yes I'm bitter.
  7. Racist
  8. 4th and less than 1 from the 7, Payton calls a [expletive] pass. Packers drive 93 yards and score a TD. Game. Set. Match. McCarthy actually outcoached someone other than Lovie Smith. Saints are going nowhere with this shitty ass defense.
  9. That's the 17th Packers 1st down
  10. Welp, that was probably the Saints best shot at winning the game.
  11. Wow....awful playcall.
  12. Suddenly the momentum shifts
  13. I hate the packers as much as anyone. but you have to give them a little credit for drafting a qb that would be willing to sit behind farve (you're retired, i'm spelling it the right way you backwoods hick) and not be a huge [expletive] during the retirement years. there's some luck there, but you don't draft eli manning into that situation. Clearly. I am just disgruntled. SPROLES!!
  14. Glorious. Shut up, dual Packers and Cubs fans are stupid and should be exterminated.
  15. I think I officially hate the Packers more than the Cardinals. Dammit. The [expletive] horseshoe up Green Bays ass to get Favre then Rodgers with no gap in between is [expletive] insane.
  16. Rodgers 14-15, 188 Yards, 3 TD, 0 INT. There's still a minute left in the 1st quarter
  17. Are the Saints even [expletive] trying?
  18. At this rate Rodgers is going to end up throwing for 450 yards have 5 TDs and a comp % north of 85%
  19. Everytime Rodgers gets 3-4 seconds to throw, there is someone open. This is the difference between teams that actually have WRs and those that consistently ignore that position (aka Bears).
  20. I predict he stubs his toe on the first play of the game and misses the rest of the season
  21. Are you [expletive] serious? It's pretty clear he was at least partially tongue-in-cheek with a lot of those predictions. Well obviously. But I don't follow the logic there. Why Jay Cutler and not someone like Ronnie Brown or maybe Olindo Mare? Cutler is no more likely to get into a fistfight with a teammate than either of those 2 or any other random NFL player. I resent the connection made between Cutler being a douche to the media and him being a horrible person who fights with his teammates. Basically it all goes back to the discussions we were having in the offseason about more people hating Jay Cutler than Michael Vick when Jay Cutler really hasn't done much to be disliked so much. The media is stretching their Jay Cutler hate to now include tongue in cheek predictions where he is punching his teammates. I cannot recall any stories where Cutler wasn't liked by his teammates.
  22. I'm pretty sure that's a good deal more in years and dollars than they've offered up to this point. Unless the comment was made because this actually happened a couple of days ago and has already been discussed.
  23. which would be A-ok with me He should punch Mike Tice then. He's the one trying to push a 2nd year 7th round pick down our throats as a LT.
  24. BTW I saw this in a Yahoo football article by Scott Pianowski and it pissed me off. Pianowski was making a list of predictions for the upcoming year and had this as one of them: Are you [expletive] serious? When has Jay Cutler EVER been known to not get along with his teammates? When has Jay Cutler ever been known to be a hothead that resorts to violence? If anything, his public persona is of someone who doesn't act like he gives a [expletive], not that he cares too much. I don't know how the world made the connection that Jay Cutler giving a douchy post game press conference and/or having an expressionless face during games means that he's an egotistical jackass who has a short temper and doesn't get along with his teammates.
  25. Any particular reason why? When he carried the ball in 2009 he did pretty well and if I remember correctly his blocking is decent. Here's a question. I know his success in the final game came against scrubs but why did Robert Hughes not even make the practice squad? I read an article saying he was the only player eligible for the practice squad who didn't make it. Must have seen something they didn't like considering they added a different RB to their practice squad after cuts. He just seems like a mediocre back in general IMO. I think he's ok when a hole is created (most RBs are) but too many times I saw him take a carry and never emerge past the LOS. There's no real technical reason I've obsereved why, just my personal impression from the few times I saw him, and I was at the game where he had a 72 yard run against the Eagles. BTW, if you take that 72 yard run away from him, the rest of his carries in 09 netted him a 3.5 YPC average, which is ok and much better than Taylor last year but nothing impressive. His longest run in the other 39 carries that year was 11 yards.
