  1. Bucs are flying to London today. They played in this game 2 years ago and flew in on Friday and supposedly were shocked at how off they felt not having adjusted to the time there. Have no idea if that's an excuse by them or not, but they've adjusted their schedule accordingly. The Bears plan to fly in on Thursday. Here's hoping it works out for them.
  2. That's ok the Bears have done it before: http://goethe.areavoices.com/files/2010/12/IMG_1247.jpg
  3. At least it wasn't our home game that was taken.
  4. Are you high? That's the only reason I could explain your inability to grasp a simple concept. edit: whoops sorry goony
  5. Also, I read that the Bears Bucs game is going to be played in London instead of Tampa. Thoughts?
  6. Whoops...sorry, I assumed it was all Marshall discussion. I was lazy and didn't bother to check. I'm better than that usually.
  7. Not surprisingly, Chris Harris has asked to be traded before the deadline tomorrow and Angelo has given his agent permission to seek out a trade.
  8. I don't care where Rose ranks now, I care where Rose will rank 2-3 years from now.
  9. Theo Epstein = Archer, Guyer, Fuld, Lee and Chirinos - 1 arb year of Matt Garza
  10. And those same people also loved Prior, Zambrano, Soto and Castro. I don't see how "sometimes prospects don't pan out" helps your argument at all. The argument isn't "Is McNutt more valuable than Epstein" its "Why give up McNutt when we believe we can negotiate trading a lesser prospect?"
  11. It's being assumed by the fact that Miami is 0-4. Well St. Louis is 0-5 and 4.5 games back of the division lead and they are trading for 30+ year old WRs.
  12. I saw Cutler in the bathroom this morning and asked him what he thought about trading for Brandon Marhsall and he just looked up in the air and moaned "DONT CARE" as he continued peeing, so I think he's ok with it.
  13. I wasn't sure if I liked Schartz's antics before yesterday, but now I think I gotta say I LOVE THEM. This dude's gonna entertain me for years with his erratic irrational behavior. The NFL needs more coaches like this. He is the anti-Lovie Smith in almost every way.
  14. Now that the Cardinals have made the World Series, I say [expletive] the MLB's policy. I say that we wait to make the announcement right as game 1 in St. Louis is about to begin. In fact, I think the Cubs should fly a blimp with their logo over Busch Stadium as Theo skydives off the blimp and onto the field for an impromptu unauthorized introductory press conference.
  15. Have there? Any links to that? The only reason I could see people thinking this way was the incident when they played each other last year where Marshall got a first down and tossed the ball to Cutler on the sidelines, but from all indications, that was done in good fun not as a means of antagonizing Cutler.
  16. The Cubs are simple midwestern folks who simply crumble during negotiations with our fast talking east coast business men. Besides, they've gone over 100 years without winning so everyone in that organization must be baseball simpletons. They probably don't even understand why we aren't asking for names like Soriano and Zambrano.
  17. You just knew when the Cardinals snuck in on the last day due to a historic collapse that they weren't just going to go down weakly. The years everyone expected them to get to the WS (2005, 2009) they stumbled early on. The years everyone thought they had no shot (2006, 2011) they make it to the WS at least. They singlehandedly ruined my postseason. I had a crapload of run watching the DS, but because of this shitty as NLCS, I lost almost all interest in following this round and will likely avoid the world series too unless the Rangers go up 3-0.
  18. =D> The only thing missing is mentioning that he's getting a promotion that the Red Sox can not or will not match.
  19. But Samardzija did become way better at baseball. Maybe. Way too late nevertheless. And not to the extent that was expected. We paid him what 15 million before he became a good pitcher? Love that he's seemingly put it together, but its fair to call it a fiasco up to this season.
  20. Record of teams Bears lost to: 15-3 Record of teams Bears beat: 4-13 I believe we still have no ideal how good or bad the Bears are. We can assume they probably aren't an elite team and we know they arent quite bottom feeders but everything else is still game.
  21. Because of excessive traveling and going to the game on Thursday, I literally haven't seen a second of Hawks on TV so far this year. And I'm the kind of person who will drop what they are doing to watch every game for the most part.
  22. Yeah, I'd be sad to lose him because I enjoyed following him last year but I agree.
  23. Didn't the White Sox announce the Robin Ventura hiring during the playoffs? I honestly don't think MLB cares when it's announced. Nothing can be announced during the World Series. The rest of the playoffs it doesn't matter. The MLB was livid when ARod's extension was announced during the WS and since then I believe its a rule that nothing can get announced. That's different because it's a player. I don't really think MLB would care if Theo is announced during the WS. It's GM hire that nobody outside of Boston and Chicago really care about. I don't think you understand. There is an official policy prohibiting teams from making announcements of any sort during the world series.
  24. Peppers has been a non-factor since Week 1. He's not getting after the passer, he's not really helping on run D (teams are gashing Bears up the middle, obviously not his fault though). The Bears should be able to win this game without Peppers. I think Jared Allen is actually an easier matchup for Webb than Cliff Avril and guys like that. Allen is not a pure speed rusher. Webb hasn't been overpowered as much as he has been run by with poor technique, and that's been consistent the last 2 years. I called this an "almost sure win" a couple weeks ago, and it's clearly not at this point. But I still expect the Bears to win, though I think it may be ugly and a close game. One thing I think you might be underestimating is Peppers ability to draw a constant double team and how that effects the rest of the line.
