  1. Celtics scored 11 points in the 2nd and 8 in the 3rd. Geez. After 3 this game is on pace to be a 65-57 Bulls win.
  2. Dammit Cubs, show some interest in a plot of land in Lombard already. Everyone knows the cubs will be bluffing, but hopefully enough bar and rooftop owners would [expletive] themselves so that Tunney can stop this charade.
  3. I didn't mind Saad getting a chance, but I agree with you. Maybe because Hoss is more of a shooter than a deker. This was a question brought up on CSN's postgame show. I think they said Hoss was 14-42 in his career which is 33%, well below Kane and Toews, but still not a terrible number for a 3rd shooter (I think....shootout statistics are hard to find). I honestly have no idea if there is a skillset for shootouts, or if there is if it differs from overall skillset. I'm sure there's some sort of link, otherwise you'd find more 4th line players who randomly have a skill for shootouts. (there's a few I think)
  4. Should have went with paper....oh well
  5. Tazer
  6. time to rock paper scissors for the 2nd point
  7. 13 games with at least a point, 3 off the Ducks record. Let's get the 2nd point though please.
  8. Sweet, 4 on 3 in OT!
  9. boo, lets get this game to OT and keep the streak going. That should have been goaltender interference
  10. time to reassess michigan or just a terrible game against a great team on the road? I just don't know anymore. They will fatten up on the Penn States on the league coming up, but that doesnt exactly inspire confidence. Trying not to be down because they are still a very talented team but yeah...
  11. I didnt see anything that suggested that the puck was conclusively over the goal line before the net got knocked out. It was starting to go over the line, was kinda kicked out, and then finally went over the line but it looked like the net was knocked off before. I'll definitely take it but I've seen better goals get disallowed in the past.
  12. Yay for Craw and the PK!!
  13. Well that sucks
  14. And he was! That was a bit of a surprise
  15. Awesome save, and even better PK especially by Kruger. This has been an entertaining game so far.
  16. It's so weird that after tonight Michigan will have played each of the other "top 7" teams (MSU, Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois) on the road but will have only played Ohio at home.
  17. Sweet Jesus, we'll be lucky if he's hitting .100 by August. But really, I'm really excited about the Indians' offseason. No huge names, and Swisher is essentially a wash with Choo (except for +Bauer), but I'll take Reynolds, Bourn, Capps, Aviles, Stubbs, and Brett Myers over some of the AA players I saw at the end of last year. And, if even one of the no risk flyers we took on Giambi, Dice-K, and Kazmir turns into big league production then that's just a bonus. We added a ton of depth and have a shot at winning a game or two against a left handed starting pitcher this year. It makes me wonder if Francona had any impact on these signings. This doesn't immediately make us Central competitors, but I'm much more hopeful. Funny I was actually thinking about the Indians possibly being a surprise team this year before I found out about Bourn. The lineup has quite a few good hitters in it (I think 6-7 had 3+ WARs last year). The pitching is the huge question mark but there is still upside with Bauer and Masterson, and maybe even Jimenez. Wouldnt call them contenders, but they've had a nice offseason and could surprise.
  18. TCU sure played like it tonight. How do you score 11 points in a half? Ask NIU
  19. Just looking at their remaining schedule to see what is likely vs. Purdue @ Northwestern vs. Penn St @ Michigan vs. Nebraska @ Iowa @ Ohio State That's not bad at all, despite 4 road games. If they take care of business at home and take 1 of the 4 road games, they're in no matter who the wins are against.
  20. Based on last year's WC 8th place team (Kings with 1.158 points per game), the 8th place team in the West would have approximately 56 points this year. The Blackhawks already have 22 after 12 games. If they went .500 the rest of the year, they would take an additional 36 points, putting them at 58 for the season. That's pretty awesome to be at a point where they only need to take half their remaining points to make the playoffs with 75% of the season remaining. I'm going to expect much better though
  21. Top of the ESPN poll is quite different. Duke is #1 and more decisively than Indiana in the AP (18 first place votes). Indiana is #2 with 6 first place votes, follow by Gonzaga (1), Miami (5) and Michigan (1)
  22. Gotta love Meyer's cocky ass trying to fix the entire Big Ten instead of just his Buckeyes.
  23. Indiana retains #1 in a very split AP poll. They get 26 1st place votes, Duke gets 20, Miami 17, Michigan gets 0 but is 4th, followed by Gonzaga who got 2 votes. Michigan St. is 8th, Ohio State 13th, Wisconsin hits a fluke miracle half court 3 and jumps into the poll at 20 (sorry still bitter :)), Minnesota drops out of the top 25 to 26th, and Illinois gains votes but is only 35th overall. Florida somehow drops from 2nd to 7th and Kansas drops all the way to 14th.
