Do you have some fundamental inability to process bad results for Michigan? @IU @Wisky @MSU Those aren't bad results to me, they are expected. Other teams have lost games they shouldn't have over a period. Sorry that I think Michigan is better than IU I don't want to sound down on Michigan because that's my team, but its hard for me to put Michigan ahead of Indiana because a) Indiana beat Michigan, b) Indiana just won in EL where Michigan got throttled by 23 exactly a week prior, c) Indiana has gone 5-2 against the other 6 Big Ten tourney probables. Michigan has gone 3-4 against those teams. I will note that Indiana has played 4 of those games at home and 3 on the road vs. 1 at home for Michigan and 6 on the road. That is a huge difference obviously. Indiana is also 5-0 against the top 20 RPI, and Michigan is 2-2 It's possible that when Michigan gets MSU and Indiana on their home court things will look different.

There was a report that hossa went to the hospital but Q just said he didn't think he went and he "seemed ok" but who knows if that even means anything.

Yes, that's what's driving this. A UNC alum wanting to destroy the ACC I fail to understand any other motivation for adding mediocre (in football) filler, small-TV-market programs like UNC and Virginia. UVA, I am not sure about. It's a very good academic school though IIRC, and I'm sure they have alum all over VA, including Richmond to Norfolk to the suburbs of DC. Sportswise, UVA is certainly better than Rutgers and I think they have a loyal following, but overall meh. UNC is also an excellent academic school I believe. They are located in that Greensboro/Raleigh/Durham area which is quite populated, but obviously not really a major market (Raleigh-Durham is 47th largest metro). But again its a state school and I'm sure has pull across NC, including Charlotte. Sportswise, UNC basketball would be a huge get, and UNC football can be good. I wonder if having members in VA and NC would do anything to help recruiting in the SE for the rest of the conference.

I know you are talking about everyday starting OFs, but the Cubs could have rocked one down the stretch in 07 with Floyd, Jock, Monroe, EPatt and Ward all playing the OF at one point or another. Edit: possibly in 06 too with Jones, Pierre and Fast Freddie Bynum

I was going to make fun of the fact that Campana in 1800 major and minor league PAs has never hit a ball fair over the fence but I just noticed had a HR in AAA last year. Was this a legit home run or an inside the park variety like his ML homer? -

Anyone care to rank the B1G at this point in the season? Not just how they are playing right now, just overall rankings of how good you feel the teams are.

I forgot that the Hawks finished last season (pre-playoffs) really strong. Apparently, the Hawks are 24-2-7 in the regular season since trading for Johnny Oduya on Feb 27th last year. Even if you include the playoffs thats 26-3-10. Thats amazing. In their last 39 games (9 days short of a full calendar year, aided by a lengthy lockout of course), the Hawks have lost in regulation only 3 times. 3/6 @ STL (1-5), 3/26 vs. NAS (1-6), 4/23 vs. PHX (playoffs, 0-4).

Minnesota is 6-7 in the Big Ten with @ OSU and vs. Ind as their next 2. Could be veering into bubble range after those 2. Their last 3 are quite winnable though so 9-9 is still looking like a possibility.

Great MJ article on espn.com today. I thought it would be another "he's 50" fluff piece and in many ways it is but I found it engaging as the writer spent a lot of time with him recently and it's very much an insider account of MJ and his inner circle and what drives him these days.

I know the jokes have all been made before, but Jackson trying to adjust his swing in order to strike out less by working with, among others, Rob Deer just seems odd.
