  1. I saw some Hart rankings article the other day and they had Toews 5th...there was another one (B-R though) that had him 1st, but I don't think there's enough buzz out there for him to win it.
  2. I keep waiting for the Cubs to have at least one breakout offensive game. So far we've only reached at least 7 runs once all year, and we lost that one. The Pirates are the only other team to have had so few 7+ run games this year, and only the Cubs and White Sox have failed to score more than 7 runs in a game this year. Teams like Colorado and Oakland have scored at least 7 runs 8 times this year already.
  3. I love B+B but I guess I can understand why people hate them.
  4. Yeah, I'd call it a "smaller major city". It has about the same population as Milwaukee. But as Tim mentioned, its metropolitan area is substantial -- about 4x larger than Milwaukee's. It's metropolitan area is larger, but it also is the only city with its own region supporting the same team. There's 14 million people almost exclusively in support of the Boston teams. Milwaukee is right down the street from Chicago with Minnesota to the West and Detroit to the East. The heart of Milwaukee support is basically just the 5+ million people in Wisconsin. I think the closest comparison to New England may be Arizona, which is the only game in town, for miles and miles. But that is a much more spread out population, and a huge portion of it is transplanted from other locations. For sports support conversations, Boston does not belong in the "smaller city" discussion. Denver too is fairly isolated, and have pretty much the entire rocky mountains area as their fan base.
  5. Roses is basically using up the majority of his goodwill that he gained over his first 4 years with the Bulls. He was accessible, said all the right things, won an MVP, led the team to the best record in the NBA 2 years in a row, etc. People are frustrated, but the media is going to treat him better than Cutler, who is known to be aloof.
  6. I wish they just kept signing a bunch of 30-some veterans every year to fill gaping holes. It worked so well for us over the last 100 years, the Ricketts would have to be complete morons to not realize this.
  7. He had some moments all game where he looked like he was in clear pain but yet had a phenomenal game and did what he always does. [expletive] off, D-Rose. If Noah is playing through this Rose could be out there now, even if it's only 25 minutes a game like Noah is playing Leave Rose alone, he hasn't had divine intervention yet.
  8. Swinging at ball 4...gotta love it
  9. What channel is this game on when CSN and CSN+ are taken with the Bulls and Cubs? Just hurry up and lose already Cubs....or win already Bulls
  10. Not to be a negative nancy in my own thread but this just seems like a game the pen is going to blow.
  11. Yeah but from what I was reading, the Jets would have been entitled to receive a 3rd round compensatory pick if Revis walked after next season, so they probably would have gotten that pick anyways. But yeah its not a bad return at all....funny to see how upset Jets fans are about the trade.
  12. Correction, 0-3-1 I think you mean 1-2-1 sox, cubs, bulls, and blackhawks. am i missing something? they all lost. A Sox loss is a win for Cub fans. Yeah. And if someone called me out on that I was gonna say the Fire won and the Sox don't count.
  13. I find the race for the 8th seed in the West very interesting, obviously partially because it will effect the Hawks. 7. Minnesota 51 points (3 GR) 8. Columbus 51 points (2 GR) -------------------------- 9. Detroit 48 points (4 GR) 10. Dallas 48 points (3 GR) 11. Phoenix 46 points (4 GR) Phoenix is probably out, but they play Detroit tonight and have a chance to really make it tough to get into the playoffs. Here are the remaining schedules. MIN - v LA, v EDM, @ COL CLB - @ DAL, v NAS DET - v PHX, v LA, v NAS, @ DAL DAL - @ SJ, v CLB, v DET PHX - @ DET, v SJ, v COL, @ ANA
  14. I think I'm checking out for awhile...this team inspires no emotion in me good or bad.
  15. I don't see the big deal. He's just trying to motivate his players.
  16. LOL. http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=pit&lg=all&qual=0&type=8&season=2013&month=0&season1=2013&ind=0&team=17&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0 http://imageshack.us/a/img541/3700/cubsk.jpg Hey he did say arguably
  17. Correction, 0-3-1 I think you mean 1-2-1
  18. Gah, terrible luck on Hossa's shot.....I'm not used to losing.... Oh well, 11 game points streak Chicago sports was 0-2-1 tonight
  19. crapshoot time 35-5-4 or 34-5-5....ooooooo the drama
  20. dude get over it, your career in the NFL is over
  21. Thank God for the Blackhawks. Oh hell they're losing too.
  22. This whole last 2 months, once it became pretty obvious Rose wasn't coming back and the rest of the team was going to be banged up, I have lost almost all excitement. I have almost very little excitement for the playoffs and I feel horrible about that, but it's just how I feel.
