I'm glad it looks like it's gonna go through, but I really wish they had gotten more than 35 as a baseline. Where does that put them among the rest of baseball? Where would the potential 46 (which would hopefully be maxed out when we're really good, but I'm not sure how you get baseball to request 11 games be changed... isn't that usually just done on Sundays or does baseball do it for some of those weeknight national broadcasts too? Either way, it would seem those 11 wouldn't impact our TV deal at all (which I think we talked about), since they'd be being bumped for national broadcasts. So only 35 still sucks. I wish I could find the link....someone figured out how many night games each team had scheduled in 2011..I believe the top team had close to 60 night games.

McNeil was talking about it on the Score today and floated something about the Hawks recently approaching Stalberg about a contract extension and he turned them down. Didn't exactly link it to this situation though. Could be one of many dominos that fell to get to this point, as I highly doubt the Hawks would weaken their team in the playoffs because someone didn't want to immediately reup with them.

It's happened. I cant think of a specific example, but I know I've seen it a few times. I think I remember the Wings doing it to the Hawks a couple of years ago. Edit: Actually this was way back in 05-06: http://espn.go.com/nhl/boxscore?gameId=251223004 Hawks were up 2-0, gave up goals with 39 seconds left and 7 seconds left, and then gave up a goal with 1 second left in OT to lose.

Interesting stuff about Carimi missing the voluntary OTAs, preferring to train in Arizona. Dickerson is on ESPN 1000 and is saying that he's pretty much on the way out and he is trying to force the Bears hands to move him. -

According to ESPN Chicago game 1 is confirmed for Wednesday at 7pm CT and the rest of the schedule will be announced tonight.

Yup, and Saturday for game 2 because the Bulls are scheduled to play game 6 of their series at the UC Friday (if necessary of course). My prediction is Hawks in 6. I wouldn't be surprised if the Wings take 1 of the first 2 at the UC, before the Hawks take control of the series.

hope so...but i still think it depends on how well the draft, deadline and performance of the core/minor leagues goes before a decision is made to spend this offseason.

Just looking at when the 2nd round could potentially start...I'm guessing that Game 1 will be played on Tuesday, possibly Wednesday. Game 7 of the Wings series is on Sunday, and the Bulls play at the UC Monday.
