  1. FYI if you have ad blocker installed, you can apparently get around the Paywall fairly easily. Someone just posted this on RealGM yesterday: http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1262128&sid=7a0b106f766424ef6766b2288280a616 Edit: To make things easy, just add this link (with the *'s) to your adblock filter: *www.tribdss.com/assets/*
  2. Go Cubs x3 http://a.espncdn.com//photo/2013/0530/chi_g_cubs_mb_300.jpg PS looks like this game is on WCIU for the Cubs broadcast. The Trib's website said WGN but the program guide says the U.
  3. Wood's probably not going to pitch either - he's scheduled to start the Sunday night game before the ASG. Don't they usually replace the guys that start on Sunday to the active roster? Maybe Shark has a shot of making it.
  4. whoops, i stand corrected after looking at the numbers.
  5. Carlos Zambrano, Carlos Marmol, Ryan Dempster, Kerry Wood, Alfonso Soriano, Aramis Ramirez, Kosuke Fukudome, Geovany Soto Minor Leagues, Minor Leagues, Decent in Boston, Retired, Barely above replacement level, Still good, Back in Japan, Backup Catcher hitting .182 What a difference 5 years makes
  6. 2013: Travis Wood (1st and only) 2012: Starlin Castro (2nd), Bryan LaHair (1st and only) 2011: Starlin Castro (1st) 2010: Marlon Byrd (1st and only) 2009: Ted Lilly (1st and only) Illustrious crew there
  7. Just announced on FOX. They havent announced the NL Reserve position players yet, but I'm assuming he is the Cubs lone all star, unless Bryan LaHair is available to be selected. Travis Wood: 5-6, 2.69 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, 110.1 IP, 80K, 33 BB, 3.51 FIP, 4.37 xFIP
  8. Here's every Blackhawks goal in the playoffs this year: My favorite non-game winner was Handzus stare down goal to tie Game 6 against Detroit or possibly Oduya's game tying goal in Game 1 against Boston.
  9. Knew this would happen. By the way, errbody, Dwight is a diva, annoying, overrated etc, but he just took less money to go to a better team, have a better chance at a title and didn't draw it out longer than he said he would. Worth mentioning. Meh were talking 1.6 million less per year and of course one less year on his deal. He should easily make back the 1.6 mil based on no state income taxes in Texas. And he will be I think 31 when the contract is up and should be able to make 20+ mil a year on his next deal if he hasn't broken down and/or continued on his downward trajectory.
  10. The Bulin wall is back!!?!!
  11. [expletive] do i hate you Howard
  12. I think Howard is my least favorite player in the NBA by a decent margin but at least he fucked over the Lakers.
  13. Damn nice payday Kyle. Would have loved to have lured him back to the Bulls but not at anywhere near that amount. 2/6 for Dunleavy is much more preferable.
  14. Hawks resign Leddy to a 2 year deal, details undisclosed
  15. Weird because one year they got to the ECF, the next year their superstar tore his acl in the first game and last year we made it to the second round despite injuries to Deng and Hinrich. Not sure where we being tired comes into play. I guess you could make an argument that we could have beaten Miami in the ECF but that's a stretch to say we lost because we were worn out.
  16. There just seems to be a lack of buzz surrounding baseball compared to 1998-2005. Some of it can be attributed to decreased scoring and maybe the PED scandal I guess. Even teams like the Yankees (who are admittedly a boring mediocre bunch this year) and Red Sox don't seem to be getting a lot of buzz.
  17. Oh boy. Hopefully he still believes it was Flintstones vitamins that made him great.
  18. Yeah, but no one was complaining when he was traded. If I remember correctly, Donaldson was the youngest in a glut of catching prospects we had in the farm at the time of the trade. Oh well, it happens sometimes. I would do that trade any day of the week given where we were at the time. Harden was a great acquisition even though it didn't work out for the Cubs that year.
  19. All I remember about playing Oakland in the past is the famous Todd Walker "safe slide"
  20. Yeah I like Emery but he seems like a luxury. Hope we didn't make any of Sundays moves in order to necessitate keeping him. I guess that goalie they signed isn't ready yet?
