Definitely not shocked that guys like Girardi and Scioscia might be itching to take over a team that is about to get a bump in young talent and resources so they can be the ones to get credit for a 20-30 game turnaround.

A repeat Cup is extremely hard and I've already outlined the reasons I'm worried about a Cup hangover in the offseason thread, but I am not sure how a successful year for the defending champs with a fairly intact roster and a mostly young core could only be a conference finals appearance. A successful year for this team is a Stanley Cup championship. -

Kinda adds up with some of the uncharacteristic weak throws he had. Meh. He also had some wild overthrows too. I guess you could speculate that he was overcompensating though. Whatever, he had a bad game, no need to find reasons or excuses. Just get better

I think the communication issues were outlined in Theo's statement as well. Like handling Castro's mental gaffes over the last 2 years, the situation with Gregg, Edwin Jackson and Shark the last couple of weeks, etc.

His broken thumb? That was against the Chargers in 2011. Thought I remembered Cutler getting knocked out of that game. Also seem to remember there being a hit on Cutler in that game that gave more support to the bountygate controversy at the time. Maybe a concussion? I know he got concussed in the Giants game. ETA: Nope, I'm wrong. He was just attacked mercilessly in that game. No injuries to speak of and the only qb of record in that game. Actually the controversy (sort of) after that one was Cutler was allowed to finish the game, which was a blowout. Sort of reminds me of yesterday.

It was a Sunday late game back in 2011. Yeah that shell I was talking about where Cutler goes into when he gets pressured too much, he was in it the entire second half. But to his credit, a lot of drop backs he wasn't getting much time at all.

Wish we were playing this game in December. They always seem to have sucked against us in the cold when we played them in the past.

Sometimes when Cutler faces a lot of pressure or makes a lot of mistakes early on, he kind of goes into a shell it seems where he holds onto the ball too long looking for a wide open receiver or only throws very conservative passes. He did that after the 2nd INT today for a bit but seemed to break out of it with that long throw to Jeffery just before halftime. Frustrating that he does that though.

Just got back from Detroit, didnt get a chance to listen to the postgame shows, how are the meatballs taking this? Look, Jay Cutler sucked a lot today, but I am worried about the typical extreme overreaction from our idiot fans. I mean just this last Thursday after Cutler started the season great and the Bears were 3-0 there were still fans calling into the Score who weren't exactly loving the idea of resigning Cutler. I gotta think that number grew after today.

You think we can somehow trade for Carlos Gonzalez without giving up any of our top 7-8 prospects (Baez, Bryant, Soler, almora, alcantara, pierce, cj, adrois)?

Nah, if they get him, I really do think its to give them more credibility with FA. Yeah, if it's Girardi, it's go time if they get girardi i would take that as a very good sign for this offseason. i don't think he'd come here unless he felt like the team could be at least decent right away. I sort of disagree. Obviously the Cubs are building towards something...if Theo sold Girardi on being competitive in 2 years, I think he would buy into it and take his lumps next year. Remember this is the guy who took a garbage Marlins team into Wild Card contention back in 2006, so I think that is part of why Theo may be interested in him.

For some reason I decided 5 minutes before MNF to put in Moreno in at starting RB and bench McFadden using some insane logic that the Broncos would have a big lead and run the ball more while the Raiders would be passing and not use McFadden enough. Of course I lost because of it. Easily my dumbest fantasy move in awhile. Not just because it didn't work out but looking back on it, it made no sense to bench the Raiders feature back for 1/3 of Denver's RB committee, even if Moreno had 2 good weeks in a row. Ugh.

I've never done a roto style football league. It seems like almost no one does them. Roto baseball of course is awesome and I prefer it much more than H2H.
