  1. Not really complaining but of course he's finally injured the one week i need 6 points from him to win in fantasy #shouldhavepostedinfantasyrantsthread
  2. multiple people called into ESPN 1000 this afternoon asking 'what if he beats the packers and lions, should he start'?
  3. Peppers has had a couple of good rushes so far
  4. Yeah this is what I expected but still sucks to go through.
  5. Supposedly (hearing this second hand. Don't have game on yet) barring no setbacks Jay will practice Wednesday and in line to start Sunday. Did anyone else catch that?
  6. I see 8 trades made between Towers and Theo, but only 1 was of any consequence, the Dave Roberts trade in 2004 during Theo's second year as GM.
  7. I'm trying to decide if the Bears would be more likely to win a low scoring game or a high one.
  8. Lovullo should and probably will put up a stink if Henry won't let him interview for a promotion because he is still butt hurt about Theo leaving.
  9. Things happen....Castro, Rizzo and Shark all under performed. The Wrigley renovations stalled and won't really get started until after next year at the earliest. I think many people when 2012 was going sour accepted that this was probably a 3 year dead period before we should expect to see results. A lot of people speculated that we could contend in 2014, but that was if a lot of things went right. Well, some things went right (development of the position prospects) but a lot went wrong. You can argue whether each of the things that went wrong was Theo's fault or not, but regardless, the plan (IMO) was always suck their way through 2012, 2013, 2014, and in 2015 you have money coming in post-rennovations and WGN deal, the first wave of top prospects would be coming through, the "core" pieces acquired before or during 2012 hitting their stride, etc. Of course after 2012 and 2013 there would be a re-evaluation if the Cubs made enough progress but so far it hasn't happened.
  10. Didn't the Cubs put in a pretty aggressive offer for Darvish 2 years ago? Granted the Rangers blew everyone out of the water, but I don't think Theo was in any way affected by the Daisuke signing.
  11. so is it just me or has this college football season been amongst the most boring in recent years? I don't know if its because Michigan has been disappointing, or the Big Ten as a whole, or because its actually legitimately boring, but there just doesn't seem to be the type of compelling storylines as in recent years.
  12. 1. Michigan - No affiliation, wear the Walmart Wolverine tag with pride. Started following them in 1997 (never followed Fab 5), watched them go from #4 in the country to out of the NCAA tourney with a late season collapse. Next year they won the inaugural BTT and lost to UCLA as a 3 seed in the second round, then waited until 2009 for another trip to the tourney. Several great starts and late season collapses, the bubble always burst. For some reason I kept watching and following. I have no idea why I like them more than my undergrad, other than that DePaul's team blows and has blown for awhile. 2. DePaul - this is a close #2. Went to Blue Demons games in the early 90's as a kid. Always had a thing for them. The year before I transferred to DePaul I really enjoyed their last tourney appearance, Delonte Holland, Drake Diener and co went on a late season run and made the tourney, beat Dayton in 2OT in the 1st round before losing to eventual champs UConn. Went to a lot of games during my 3 years there...this was the period just before the bottom fell out of the program, still in Conference USA, Dave Leitao was still there, and only making the NIT was still a disappointment. Still go to 1-2 games a year. 3. Dayton - My wife's team, I started following them because its pretty much the only team she shows any passion for. 4. Northwestern - Always followed them from afar hoping they'd make the tourney one of these years.... 5. Illinois - Slightly ahead of.... 6. The Big Ten Field minus MSU and OSU
  13. I've got... Packers 38 Bears 20
  14. Bears finished 8th in the NFL in sacks last year with 41, this year they are dead last with 9 (on pace for 21)
  15. jesus coaches dropping like flies, hope he's ok
  16. Phew, they do finally convert, but unfortunately, it was literally one second after the first PP expired, so we don't get 18 extra seconds of PP time. I'll take it though
  17. Hawks get 1:42 of 5 on 3 down 1 late in the 3rd, gotta convert
  18. 2 QB league with stats slanted towards favoring QBs. Opponent started Nick Foles and Tom Brady. Foles with a solid 67 points, Brady 49 for a combined 116 points.
  19. Wow Westbrook is playing tonight....2 weeks to a month ahead of schedule #realmanunlikedrose
  20. Does that number include salary obligations to traded players like Soriano and Hariston? I'm also assuming it's not accounting for arb players.
  21. No. According to ESPN the Bobcats win the tiebreaker over us. Dammit to hell.
  22. I think it's pretty likely they thought they could get Girardi and when they didn't they had to reevaluate.
  23. YES ITS 3 GAMES. Jesus Christ this team didn't randomly have their talents stolen by Monstars during the offseason. Give it a rest.
