  1. Is it August yet? Sorry we are still 20 Bryant Home Runs (how I choose to measure time now) from training camp opening.
  2. Yeah I wouldn't call the Bears the best offense in the NFL. They should be in the conversation though.
  3. Quick promote him to Iowa, I can't stand a no Bryant HR day
  4. I'm going USA 2 Ghana 1 Germany 3 Portugal 0 USA 2 Portugal 2 Germany 3 Ghana 1 Germany 2 USA 0 Portugal 1 Ghana 0 Germany 3-0-0 9 USA 1-1-1 4 (4 GF, 5 GA) Portugal 1-1-1 4 (3 GF, 5 GA) Ghana 0-0-3 0 USA advances by the slimmest of margins. Probably being too hard on Ghana though, they are going to get a point somewhere right?
  5. Silver has us at about 39% or so; I think that the chances are much higher than that. I'd be more surprised if we didn't. I feel like if we beat Ghana, 70%, if we draw Ghana, 25%, if we lose to Ghana, 3%
  6. because there's a zero percent chance he comes up chicago until late april next year. the longer he's crushing in iowa, the more obvious it is that we're just stalling him. so we pretend like these arbitrary amounts of time at each level matter/mean anything. he'll go to iowa after the all-star break, finish the season there, start next year at iowa again, and then come up as soon as he looks hot (which is all the time). This is the best answer. I hope Baez and Bryant come up together and Alcantara is already up here raking.
  7. How does Tennessee have 5 runs and Bryant is only 1-3 with a stupid single?
  8. I'll take an 8:1 HR to Errors ratio
  9. Every time the Cubs get on some sort of roll they blow a game late and lose. In April they had won 3 of 4 and were about to beat Arizona when they blew a 5-0 ninth inning lead and lost. In May they won 3 in a row and were tied 3-3 against the Cardinals in the 9th before Molina hit a 2 run single to win it. In May the Cubs won 3 in a row and were beating the Yankees 2-0 in the 9th when the Yankees tied it and won it in extras. Now today the Cubs have won 3 in a row and had a 3-0 9th inning lead before coughing it up.
  10. How many multiple run 9th inning leads have we blown this year?
  11. I liked baseball better then. I hate admitting that.... Actually I liked the era between the steroid area and this current dead ball era, where not everyone was doping, but some guys still were. Less guilt enjoying that product. Why feel guilty? You weren't doping...or were you???? What do you expect from a Marlins fan? Cats out of the bag I guess. Whatever I'll embrace it.

You weren't doping...or were you???? guilty watching players who are killing themselves for my enjoyment
  13. Sure would be awesome to seem them in the playoffs!!! I said I'd love to see the teams involved with the Marlins one of the 10 teams. I'm sorry which of these teams would you rather see in there: Reds, Cardinals, Dodgers, Mets, Phillies? The Padres, Pirates, Nats, DBacks, Rockies would be more ideal than Miami, but whatever, again one of 10 teams.
  14. You are the new most awful person on this site. Who the hell cares about the stupid Marlins anymore? I'm over it. Yeah I get it they beat us in 03, their owner is a POS, they stole money from Miami taxpayers for a stadium no one goes to, and their fans are horrible, the few that they have. I dunno I'd rather see a young unheralded core make the playoffs in relative obscurity than see the stupid Cardinals or Reds make it instead.
  15. I seem to recall the Blue Jays, probably because of Reggie Jackson Baseball for SMS where they were one of the best teams. They finished above .500 from 83-89. They were one of the better teams in the AL despite only making the playoffs twice. In 87 they won 96 games and didnt make it, they also had a couple of 89 win seasons and didn't make it. The Angels made the playoffs twice in the 80s and had 4 90 win seasons.
  16. If the playoffs started today, I would absolutely love the teams involved 1 San Francisco Giants 2 Milwaukee Brewers 3 Atlanta Braves 4 Miami Marlins 5 Washington Nationals Giants vs Marlins/Nationals Brewers vs. Braves 1 Oakland Athletics 2 Toronto Blue Jays 3 Detroit Tigers 4 Seattle Mariners 5 Los Angeles Angels Athletics vs. Mariners/Angels Blue Jays vs. Tigers The Brewers are the only team that I have even the slightest amount of dislike for, and seeing teams like the Marlins, Nats, Blue Jays and Mariners would be sweet. Plus the AL teams other than Seattle have a very mid-80's feel to it.

  18. I know this is common in college baseball but why are baseball players allowed to hire agents and be drafted without losing eligibility but football and basketball players aren't? Always wondered that.
  19. What a bizarre game 1. AC out in arena, 90 degrees in there. lebron misses last 7 mins of game with cramps and Spurs go on huge run to win
  20. Errrr....Jimmy Clausen just signed with the Bears
  21. It's not like the Cubs have let the inaccuracy of the song's other lyrics get in the way... About projecting supreme confidence in the cubs ability to win on that particular day and having the power and speed to be the best team in the national league?
  22. Noah was named to the All-NBA 1st team. 2nd Bull to receive the honor since MJ. I don't remember the first one, some guy named after a flower. Whatever happened to him?
