  1. Game Score is a pretty stupid metric, but [expletive] it..... Arrieta had a GS of 97 today, 3rd highest in the majors this year behind Kershaw's no hitter (102) and Bumgarner's 1 hit CG SO (98)
  2. Jake is at 149.2 IP over 151 team games. Pitchers need 1 IP per team game to qualify for ERA league leaders. Does Jake get 2 more starts this year? If so he needs 12.1 IP in those starts to qualify. If he qualified he'd be 6th in the NL in ERA.
  3. Its happened on every near no hitter this year. Give it up meatballs
  4. Jake has allowed 2 or less runs in 18 of his 24 starts Absolutely dominant performance
  5. Z kept taking no hitters deep in games and losing them, until one day he finished one off. I believe Arrieta will do the same.
  6. Haha that looked like it jammed him off the bat.
  7. Len said something about them giving him extra rope to get out of it because he wants 20 wins or something? so even if he'd gotten out of it, he probably would have been done after that inning, meaning that the reds would have had to score 4 runs in the bottom of the inning for him to have a chance at the win. seems... rather unlikely. Well no they are at wrigley, so the reds would have had to score 4 runs and Cueto would have had to face an additional batter in the bottom of the 7th. Keep in mind it was only 2-0 when he said that. nah, they would've just had to take the lead with cueto still in the game. if the reds went up 3-2 or 4-3 in the top of the 7th with cueto having finished the 6th, cueto would've stood to get the win. Yikes I can't even get basic baseball things right these days.

  9. Hah, both Beltway teams are going to clinch playoff spots within 30 mins of each other

  11. I can't see the Cubs ever leaving Iowa. They are about as stable of an partnership as there is out there.
  12. Have the Bears returnders approached Bobby Wade levels yet? It's weird to have so much many issues after nearly a decade of complete stability at the position.
  13. Weird. Does he have an offer somewhere else or is he just offended at being cut multiple times?
  14. except for a glaring elephant in the room Dammit, I'm going to feel dumb for asking this...what elephant is that? http://www.rlrouse.com/pic-of-the-day/swing-miss.jpg Oh yeah...their BB/K rates are similar but Rizzo didn't come close to Bryants high K rate overall.

  16. ok ok dumb question. Obviously we'd be thrilled. Was mostly just pointing out how similar their Iowa numbers were.
  17. I bet he got canned for being too meatbally for meatball TV and let him save face
  18. Good to have Pat back as well. Sick of hearing Judd Sirrott when I am driving around listening to the game on the radio.
  19. Was just looking at Rizzo's minor league numbers for some reason, and realized that his and Bryant's sample size at Iowa is very similar (Rizzo in 2012 and Bryant in 2014). They were also both 22 at the level, with Rizzo obviously having significantly more minor league pas (~1900 vs ~700) due to being drafted out of HS. Rizzo 2012 at Iowa - 70 G, 284 PA, 18 2B, 2 3B, 23 HR, 62 RBI, 23 BB, 52 K, .342/.405/.696/1.101 Bryant 2014 at Iowa - 70 G, 297 PA, 14 2B, 1 3B, 21 HR, 52 RBI, 43 BB, 85 K, .295/.418/.619/1.036 If anything I guess Rizzo's numbers look a little better, but they are very similar. Also possibly relevant is that Rizzo's numbers were from April - July whereas Bryant's were June - September, and this was Bryant's first full minor league season and he definitely tailed off a bit later in the year. Would everyone be happy if Bryant turned into a RH Rizzo in the OF?
  20. Not really. I wouldn't expect him back even though he seems to really want to come back for some reason. because he wants to complete Voltron with Rizzo, Javy, Soler and Alcantara
  21. damn it i completely forgot to listen replayed in its entirety at 5
  22. I confused his skinny ass for Shea on a couple plays and was sarcastically commenting on his play quite a bit. I'm glad I'm not the only one that did this. Especially on the play where Kaepernick first got by Vereen and then danced by Allen. I thought for sure that was Shea.
