  1. The Colts propose a rule where TD drives can be worth as many as 9 points. 4 scenarios: -Team misses a PAT or fails to convert a 2 point conversation: 6 point drive -Team makes a PAT: 7 point drive -Team successfully scores a 2 point conversion: 8 point drive -Team successfully scores a 2 point conversion and makes a subsequent 50 yard FG: 9 points http://deadspin.com/the-colts-new-rule-proposal-touchdown-drives-worth-up-1692203684
  2. Moving the Bean to directly behind the scoreboard is a dubious decision as well.
  3. He's basically saying that getting an extra year of control isn't a "result" because reasons. well, you can make a pretty good case that if it makes the difference between a playoff spot in 2015 and not, the playoff result is a better result than the extra year result. the problem is you have no way of knowing if that very unlikely scenario is going to play out ahead of time so you can't make a decision based on it happening. It just seems like it would even be tricky to quantify whether or not one player took a team to the playoffs. Between that and, like you said, how unlikely it is that that would be the case, it seems like such a silly thing to get worked up over. definitely. it'd have to be a clear cut scenario where they barely made the playoffs and bryant was basically mike trout. and Olt sucked terribly the first 2 weeks of the season.
  4. And if we play decently well we can earn home ice in that series. We have 3 games in hand and only 4 points behind if the tiebreaker is H2H we have that as well.
  5. I remember there being some outcry with Evan Longoria in 2008 but I think he quickly signed a contract to eat up his arb years so the outcry went away quickly.
  6. I'm glad Bryant is taking the high road publicly and not letting Boras corrupt his mind. It's kind of a shitty situation for him to be in the middle of, especially with all the drama in the media. But you have to put part of the blame on the PA for agreeing to it. The "loophole" had been exploited multiple times already when the last CBA was agreed to a few years ago. The Cubs are playing within the rules, and there's always a very slight risk that they are taking that the player is not put off by this and heads elsewhere when he finally becomes a FA.
  7. If I didn't listen to it, I'd have nothing to bitch about. Almost all of the music radio stations suck in Chicago, I don't have XM, and my car is from 2010, right before USB ports became the norm in cars. So basically its either sports radio, NPR or being forced to talk to my wife.
  8. I'm so glad I don't have to hear about Andy the Clown or Al's Beef every afternoon when I turn on the score anymore.
  9. Sad...I didn't realize he started his career as a Bull. The only thing I remember him for was being brought on to help control Dennis Rodman, him missing the entire season because of (i think) an injury, and then playing 7 minutes in the last game of the year.
  10. Damn, starting to see some visible progress. That jumbotron is going to be a monster!
  11. http://rumorsandrants.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Scott-Boras.jpg Seriously has Boras ever allowed a client to sign early and not test the open market?
  12. Saw this on reddit...Spoilers for 2003 NLCS G6
  13. I care! Putting that unrealistic tier is just cruel. Brian Wardle is definitely my pick for best combination of realistic and affordable. He even seems like a guy that would stick around and build the program instead of darting to the Big Ten or elsewhere.
  14. One hell of a year for UM sports. Gonna be an optimist and say 2 bad seasons sets up Michigan for the future. Obviously in football, Harbaugh. In basketball, several guys stepped up and this team looks like it could be an upper echelon Big Ten team next year. If anything, this basketball season reinforced my belief in Beilein as a coach. I would like him to do a little better recruiting (although before this last class and the current one he was doing fine), but that is marginalized when he seems to turn lightly regarded recruits into very good players annually. If most non-Kentucky teams lost their 3 best players to the draft, and then lost their 2 best returning players to injury for a majority of the season, they wouldn't even be talking about their NIT bubble bursting today.
  15. http://t.co/lROuN2aqy1 According to this, Dayton was the last team in, and Texas and UCLA were the last 2 teams for a bye. OSU is was one of the last 4 byes and the lowest seeded Big Ten team
  16. The committee obviously doesn't seed by KenPom rankings Re: Ohio State
  17. Dayton has an RPI of 28. They should have been in the second round. Not that RPI is the end all but I think only one school has had a lower RPI and not made it.
  18. Committee smoking crack this year. UCLA not only in but don't have to play in Dayton? Some team is going to be screwed
  19. I know and I thought you guys were wrong :) good call
  20. How the heck did Dayton end up in a playin game? That's insane. And they get a home game lol.
  21. No Bryant today. Game on WGN and 780
  22. Seriously Boras?
  23. Impressed with the Hawks play so far this afternoon
  24. And DePaul fires their coach again. Time to start over.
