Jesse Rogers said Grimm didn't even know it was a no hitter after it was completed. He was wondering why the rest of the pen was sprinting to the field from the pen instead of jogging like usual.
Very nice move. I'm very happy with it but I can't help but point out another move that helps us win the 2012 World Series :) This solves a number of issues for us, but I think the biggest is that its a much better option against lefthanders than Denofria (.767 OPS this year vs. .550 something for Denofria). It also gives us a solid replacement at CF god forbid something happens to Fowler.
OK Deadspin just posted it. I don't see how there is a debate. It was hit right at Castro. Yes it was hit hard but he barely had to move to get in front of the ball. If the ball was hit a few inches lower it would have gone through his legs for a sure error. Looks like a clear error to me and the Dodgers should stop bitching.
Link to this thread, dammit. I have no idea what you're talking about. Can't remember when it was, it's possible that it got lost to the Great NSBB Database Crash of 2005 that Tim has recovered but not shared with us yet for some reason.
thats awesome but Haren, Hendricks and Hammel combined averaged 4.2 innings per start over their last 23 combined starts. Not enough time to walk 4 guys.
If Shark was just a little more patient and waited out the rebuilding process he could have been a part of a winning team. Of course in that scenario we don't have Addison Russell and are more focused on extending Shark (assuming he doesn't fall on his face w Bosio coaching him) than going after a David Price type this offseason. Or perhaps we plan for an ace in 2016 and don't sign Lester this offseason. The funny thing is the As immediately tanked after they traded for Shark and the Cubs actually had a better record than them after the trade. Sure he "made the playoffs" but they lost in the Wild Card game and he didn't pitch. Now this year he goes to the White Sox who are huge disappointments and gets to watch the media praise the Cubs who are contending.
