Emotion aside...hmm. I think the Cubs should be about 50/50 to make the playoffs. ...after I look it up, FG has us at 49.9...so I guess that sounds right.

He has to finish the season so that replacing him can be sold as a big offseason move in lieu of a real signing. Theo and Joe Girardi will talk all offseason about building a culture of accountability and Sergio Romo will be the team's biggest signing.

I think the best part was when he bunted to first solely to crush the guy that pitched behind him. Right, but then he doesn't just keep wailing on him as you'd expect; he's seemingly all, "surely everyone will see I was justified in my skilled bunting and subsequent clobbering of the pitcher, and I will now be able to reach 1B without incident." Cracked me up. -

I know that the chance to win or lose a particular game is always closer to 50% than anyone likes to imagine, so I wasn't on the sweep train...but I sure as horsefeathers didn't expect to win this match-up.
