  1. Any word on the leaning tower of Pisa?
  2. The Bear o-line will wear them down. I don't trust the Packers to stop the run for long.
  3. Should be 3-0 Bears blah or 3-3 Rogers missed a long TD pass. Cutler missed two, to the Packers.
  4. Guess when Adewale plays good? Contract years.
  5. Only that last one was Cutler's fault, but he has to stop forcing it
  6. I can't ever remember one team gaining so much media love based on the preseason. Especially a team that couldn't stop the run last year and had a RB who was inconsistent at best. Why are the Packers so much better than last year? The 3-4? But there is no way to determine how good they will be right now. Well if you want you could say, there is no way to determine how good anyone will be right now. :) You possibly can if you look at improvements made. Look at your team last year and examine what additions were made. The Packers were a bad team last year and didn't do much to improve. The Bears got way better. The Bears were better than the Packers last year. They will be better this year too. But all this Packer love is crazy. It is unwarranted.
  7. The punishment for Serena's outburst was a penalty point that resulted in the end of the match. There won't be anything beyond that, except possibly a fine. But has anyone ever threatened a line judge like that before? Mary Carillo said that was the worst outburst by a woman she has ever seen and possibly the worse outburst of any sort she had seen on the court.

  9. What does everyone think the punishment for Serena's outburst? She did threaten the line judge and should face some sort of suspension.
  10. It is Chargers tradition for rookies to take the rest of the team out to dinner. Larry English's bill was a mere...$14,000. The restaurant charged a 17% gratuity because it was a large group presumably. Do restaurants usually do that even on things like expensive wines if you are part of a large group? And what is an event surcharge? http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/The-Chargers-are-hungry-and-Larry-English-is-buy?urn=nfl,188313
  11. Lou Holtz, get off my TV. He said Charlie Weiss is the most underrated coach in the country. Try most overrated.
  12. Grossman looking great tonight. 190 yards and 2 TDs with an 85 yard TD pass.
  13. I only saw part of Sunday's game so far. How is Chris Williams looking?
  14. Favre is already hurt. He has a tear in his rotator cuff and a broken rib. 1. Should the Bears go after Brandon Marshall? (they have plenty of cap space) 2. Do the Bears have enough to give Denver?
  15. Yeah, the secondary worries me but I think there's enough talent and depth on the line to be at least serviceable. Hopefully Marinelli is as good as everyone says. The linebackers do not worry me at all though--I think it's a top 5 unit in the league with the addition of Pisa. He's just a huge improvement over Hillenmeyer. Briggs and Urlacher are still among the best players at their respective positions. This defense is serviceable to above average. But even with Cutler, this team isn't going to the Super Bowl unless the offense or defense is top 5.
  16. I think the Bears need specifically one player to become a stud again to get close to SI's predictions and make a deep run in the playoffs. That player is Tommie Harris. Unfortunately his knee is only at 80% now and it isn't going to improve during the season. The Tampa-Two can only thrive if he is playing at a Pro-Bowl level. I don't see how they will be much better than last year if he isn't playing great. Ogunleye and Brown will be double teamed and they aren't good enough to overcome that. Without pressure on the QB, this defense will be picked apart. With that said, the Bears made it to the Super Bowl in 2007 without Harris because he was on IR. But this defense is older and slower upfront and in the middle and less experienced in the defensive backfield compared to that team.
  17. Help win a championship? Yeah, they did that.
  18. Is there a diminished skills clause somewhere in the fine print of Soriano's contract?
  19. Imagine if Kansas had not made that last-second shot. Memphis would have had their national championship rescinded correct?
  20. If Cutler or any starter goes down for the season, that team won't go anywhere. But a good backup can hold the fort down if the starter is just injured for a few games. That can be the difference between getting in the playoffs and holding the team steady until the starter gets back.
  21. I'll split the cost with you. The Marlins have been an affront to baseball for too long. At least they have won a World Series or two in the least 15 years or so.
  22. Did you think Scales and Blanco could hit in the low .300s for a season? They can't. Miles has been injured and isn't playing good, but at least he had a decent MLB track record before this year. Reed Johnson played great last year and I bet he will turn it around in the next few months. He is a little overpriced for a fourth outfielder, but I still like him. This is just Monday morning quarterbacking.
  23. Thank the Lord. Does that mean the stupid Monsters whatever show is also off Comcast? No, but David Hernandez's Next Step Staffing Solutions was the main sponsor for Monsters in the Morning so who knows what will happen. Among the public service announcements that ran in place of paid ads in the final hour before Chicago Sports Webio shut down Tuesday was one urging vigilance for fraud. "If you're a victim, reporting the con to the public authorities will prevent others from suffering the same fate," it said. "To learn more about how to keep your family safe from con artists and scams, visit ncpc.org." http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/columnists/chi-wed-phil-0617jun17,0,2825222.column Wow!
  24. Chicago Sports Webio is officially off the air
