  1. No the Bulls don't have to trade Deng to get LeBron. They have enough for him. But if they want two players at max contracts, they have to trade Johnson and Taj or Deng. Deng can't play PF. He can't rebound and doesn't have the size or strength defensively. My guess is that the Bulls will trade him after eating 30-40% of his salary. Deng will want out if LeBron comes to Chicago anyway. Unfortunately you won't be able to trade him until after all the big boys have been signed and someone is left out in the cold and is in need of a SF. But that would mean that the Bulls wouldn't have enough at signing time to get 2 max guys.
  2. Yes cause Taj's money is now off the books. I take my comment back. If the Bulls got rid of Gibson's salary, they are still $377,000 short to get LeBron and Bosh. Johnson and Gibson would both have to go. I would kind of like to keep Gibson.

  4. So LeBron met with New York today, Miami and New Jersey tomorrow, and the Bulls and Cavs Saturday (or Sunday). I wonder if this is is ranked in order of how much he wants to play for a each team.
  5. What would LeBron get on the open market? 40 million?
  6. That can't be a good sign if you are associated with the Knicks. I understand James isn't going to tip his hand on what his decision is, but the fact that James seems to be pretty much a robot during the Knicks presentation, is not a good sign. He has been a robot this whole offseason no matter who has has talked to.
  7. 2 months ago I thought the Bulls had no chance to get LeBron. Now that they do have a chance I am actually much more nervous about this whole thing. Not getting LeBron would be so disappointing now.
  8. Holy [expletive]. That's a lot of scratch. I didn't think he had $750 million. I guess he had double that.
  9. http://web.sny.tv/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100629&content_id=11717746&oid=36320&vkey=18 Somebody knows they aren't getting Lebron... What if that source is GarPax? So slimy them too.
  10. Hearing the "Federer's days are over and the torch has been passed" nonsense. They said that after Nadal beat him at Wimbledon. Then Federer promptly won the French the next year. I just don't think Federer can pass the torch without anyone to pass the torch to. Nadal could take it, but he has been too injured to accept it.
  11. Does Reinsdorf go to Akron with GarPax, Rose, Noah, and Thibodeau? http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/basketball/bulls/ct-spt-0630-bulls-chicago--20100629,0,6952391.story that article says they're trying to get pippen to go with them, which would be pretty huge imo, especially after the wade comments. it also says the hawks might offer joe johnson the 6/126 max, which would be absolutely hilarious. The Hawks are more screwed without him. Not one free agent has said anything about them wanting to go there. they're more screwed with him at that money. No. The team has a hard enough time drawing with him. Without him they don't make the playoffs and lose even more money. Keeping Johnson gives Atlanta a faint hope that they could win something. Either way they aren't getting past the second round. Might as well keep the fans coming.

  13. I just keep on thinking about how important it was to get that number one pick two years ago in the lottery. Not only did the Bulls get Rose at a nearly impossible percentage, but they just might land LeBron and Bosh because of it. Makes one wonder if Stern arranged the balls so the Bulls would win. The NBA needed a strong Chicago team.
  14. Did Reinsdorf ever pay the luxury tax during the Jordan years? LeBron might be wondering how he will pay for Rose if he gets two max guys this year. Is Boozer going to be a max guy? Since there are so many teams and so few players, he could become one even though his talent shouldn't place him there. I would just rather have LeBron, Boozer, and Ray Allen if the Bulls could financially swing that. I want a shooting guard who can shoot.

  16. Weird that no one considered or even talked about the summit being considered tampering until it actually happened, or was strongly alleged that it happened
  17. He's made $3 million as a pro pitcher That's it?
  18. Anyone think the Bulls can still trade Deng? Once all the a level FAs are gone, some teams are going to be left with nothing. They will need to go after Loul. The Bulls pick up half of the salary, trade him, and then get Ray Allen in addition to Lebron and Bosh. Luol cant stay with the Bulls and Lebron.
  19. Can that work out financially?
  20. The difference is that I really don't see this team improving. I saw the 07 team as just playing below their ability. I don't think Ramirez, Wells, Zambrano, Lee, and Fukudome are going to set the world on fire the rest of the season.
  21. The NBA said they couldn't do this? Must be a new development.
  22. I am beginning to think that I would rather have Boozer than Bosh. The Bulls don't need a spot up shooting 4, but a banger who has moves in the post. Isn't that something Boozer does? Bosh is a slightly better scorer, but if the Bulls have LeBron and Rose, Bosh or Boozer isn't going to be putting up more than 20 a game anyway.
  23. I think his recent failed playoff run really put the nail in the coffin.
  24. Pietrus would be the starting shooting guard wouldn't he?
