  1. and points I have a feeling the Bears will score on this drive. But year, points too.
  2. Hester with a ponytail. Ha!
  3. Allright the Olsen fumble only cost the Bears field position.
  4. Mark Anderson with a tackle in the backfield. Wow!
  5. Don't give Martz any reason to keep you on the line blocking where you won't be much use.
  6. C'mon Olsen. Be smart!
  7. I just turned the game on. It was 3rd and 20 so I understand forcing that. Were they in field goal position?
  8. I missed the INT. Was it just a bad throw?
  9. I don't know why anyone would factor the preseason as the most important factor in determining the outcome of the first regular season game.
  10. He served great in the wind. I don't know what is happening today. But that was the first set he lost this tournament and is up 6-5 in the third. I guess they didn't wash the towels first. They are shedding over Nadal and Djokovich's faces.
  11. They just showed a clip of Agassi winning in '94. Man they hit the ball slow then. It really is amazing how hard today's players hit it. Better fitness plays apart, but today's racquets are unbelievable.
  12. My prediction - Lions 20, Bears 17
  13. Your team must stink because I have no idea who your team is.
  14. I would hit that. He could start right now. Small paycheck, but better than nothing for him.
  15. Currently two starters from last year's Bear defense are still free-agents. Adewale Ogunleye and Vasher. Man that's sad.
  16. This is as stupid as the "We're not trading Luol Deng for one of the 10 best basketball players of all time" crap the Bulls pulled last time a potential huge trade was discussed. Joakim freaking Noah is not untouchable! I hope they are just saying this to start bargaining high because they think they can keep Noah and still swing Melo. At the time the Kobe deal was being considered the Lakers were pretty mediocre/bad compared to what they're doing now. The thought was that by giving up some combination of Hinrich, Deng, Gordon, Thomas, etc. that we'd just be swapping their situation for ours. Rose wasn't in the picture, Noah was an unknown. It looks worse in retrospect because Deng and Kirk had a bad couple of years and we never got any better. You put Kobe on a team with Nocioni as your #2, a headcase Noah, and Duhon at PG and you're probably not all that good. I'm not sure that many people were going to be traded with Deng. The team the Bulls have now has a very solid supporting cast to go along with Rose and Boozer even without Noah. The Bulls have a 1B guy with Rose who could become an all-out stud someday. But to get anywhere in the east you need a big boy now and Anthony is that type of player.
  17. No, I'm not. I played basketball; I know how floor spacing works. I said earlier on the page that I'd probably go for the Deng & Noah trade. All I was responding to was the idea that Melo was currently a top 5-7 player in the NBA, right now. As good as he is at scoring, that's pretty much all he provides, elite as he is at it. You played basketball so you know how NBA floor spacing works? I'll quickly tell you how it works - move everybody out of the way and let Anthony whup his man. He is not a bad rebounder. Only Gerald Wallace had a ton more as a SF last year. Deng and LeBron, the only other two ahead of him, were only half a rebound a game ahead. Now that the Bulls have a top-5 rebounder in Boozer, he will be cleaning up. If Noah somehow stays and the trade is made, you have two of the top-seven rebounders and you don't need Melo to do that. Now Melo's defense is suspect, but I wouldn't doubt Thibodeau could help turn that around, especially on a team he really wants to be on. So you probably would trade Deng for Carmelo straight up? Any GM in the league would make that trade within one second without a second thought. I hope Bulls' fans don't fall into the trap that because they like a guy personally and are familiar with him that somehow his value to the team is increased more than it should be. The fact is that the Bulls are closer to a championship with Carmelo Anthony, even losing Deng and Noah, than without him. I think they can compete with any team in the league if they make that trade.
  18. This is as stupid as the "We're not trading Luol Deng for one of the 10 best basketball players of all time" crap the Bulls pulled last time a potential huge trade was discussed. 19. Actually, it's Todd, not Tom. Nice catch. I really don't think Todd Ricketts would need a disguise.
  20. Now the named and faced Tom Ricketts is going to be on Undercover Boss at Wrigley http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/09/cubs-owner-todd-ricketts-stars-in-undercover-boss.html
  21. I don't blame Ted for not calling out Lovie and Jerry if he hadn't said anything before, but he pretty much did at the end of the season press conference in January.
  22. Great interview on 670 with Ted Phillips. Some nuggets: - Forbes thinks the Bears should be worth more, but Phillips prides the organization on being the NFL's leader on the web. He also pointed out they are most popular with social media sites and their radio numbers. Hahahaha! Why didn't the Bears build a rectractable roof stadium and increase the capacity of Soldier Field? That would have been a cash cow if the Bears could share in the profits with the park district. - Said Lovie and Jerry aren't on the hot seat and won't necessarily be fired for missing the playoffs.
  23. Brady agrees to an extension. $75 million, with $45 guaranteed. http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/27353/report-tom-brady-agrees-to-extension
  24. That was a complete pass. I just never saw it hit the ground from any angle.
  25. I think it was something like $1,200 for his Independence Bowl jersey. I wonder what he'd get for a BCS bowl jersey? Can't football players on scholarship still take out student loans to live off for some extra cash? Why don't players just do that, especially ones like AJ green who know that they are going to easily be able to pay it back? I know they can't get loans from private companies and pay it back through their NFL signing bonus, but student loans are legal right?
