  1. So happy I didn't hear any vuvuzelas today
  2. Because that would make a better team. You can save what, $3-5 million with Deng as opposed to Melo and use that on someone else.
  3. I thought if you opt out, you have to be involved in a sign and trade? what? and did you also say you'd rather have deng than melo? wtf??! Did you even bother to mention the context? I said if the Bulls got Kevin Love first, I would rather add Deng than trying to get Love and Melo.
  4. All them Ghanans staying up late into the night and conserving electricity to see that ending
  5. I thought if you opt out, you have to be involved in a sign and trade?
  6. Probably couldn't afford him with where they'd be at cap wise. They could afford Melo but not Deng?
  7. If the Bulls can get the Love trade done, why not bring Luol back? If Love is here, I think I'd rather have Deng over Melo.
  8. Did I just imagine this, but was Quick trying to give the water bottle to the official to try to smooth over a part of the ice that had a chunk missing?
  9. I know the refs are supposed to swallow their whistles in overtime, but wasn't there an obvious slash 5 seconds before that goal?
  10. Hawks only had 3 shots on goal in the third, scored on 2 of them. Wow.
  11. Oh baby you can't let Kane do that
  12. Oh my what a pass! Would have had a goal about a minute before if his stick hadn't broke.
  13. What % of the new revenue that would come in after the renovation is held up by the rooftop owners?
  14. Which is why you wonder if Tom didn't have the money for the renovations and now does.
  15. http://www.chicagobusiness.com/article/20140522/BLOGS02/140529926?template=mobile&X-IgnoreUserAgent=1 Yeah. I mean, at some point (which appears to be NOW), they just tie this up in court -- if necessary, all the way until the agreement runs out. Pretty sure the court case won't be going for 8 years There won't be a renewal on that agreement, that's for sure. The point being, it's pretty short-sighted to fight the Cubs on this thing, either way. It can't end well for them. If they fight until Ricketts raises his offer to say $150 million, it ends well. Probably what they are hoping for. Yes I want the Cubs to have more financial resources, but if the rooftop contract is as the rooftop owners say it is, I can't blame them. You can't just let Tom block you.
  16. No more tees for pinch hitters to use and a shaded bullpen. Watch out NL Central 2020!
  17. What happens if Tom loses in court? This whole thing gets pushed back how long?
  18. If Tom really had the legal right to block the rooftops, just seemed really late in the game to let everyone know he did. Wouldn't that have been something you alert the media and Cub fans to right away? Just seems shady. Wasn't it just this past winter that some details surfaced over the contract?
  19. Yep. Tom is a fan-owner and wanted to see the rooftops saved. Done doing that.
  20. I know this question has long been answered in this thread, but can Ricketts buy out just the affected rooftops and just pay double to end this?
  21. 20k a game in profit per rooftop is way too high isn't it? That would equal out to $250 million over 10 years. I can see why Ricketts doesn't want to pay that.
  22. Won't the value of the houses the rooftops are on lose a sizable percentage if they can't host customers too?
  23. What do the rooftops do in revenue on average per year the last 5 years?
  24. Just pay the rooftop owners already. Give them $100 million if that is a fair deal. Between litigation costs, losing all of this extra revenue that could have been made, and the possibility that Tom loses in court, it would just be so much easier.
  25. Bulls in a good position knowing that what 5 teams want Thibs. Great place to negotiate from. If Thibs was traded, how do you match salaries with a coach?
