The OC makes all the difference. Well, that and actual weapons. They have certainly helped, but Caleb Hanie and Jason Campbell don't do this even in the 2013 offense.
I remember when you used to hear, "Once your star QB goes down for significant time, it doesn't matter who the backup is because they all suck." At the very least McCown has helped keep this team afloat. Needed McCown the last few years.
If I knew Jay is completely healthy, he starts. But can you really put him in next week and throw away a half with this Bear defense if Jay proves ineffective?
I know I will be laughed out of town for saying this, but if McCown plays this solid do you want to see more of Jay to evaluate him in this offense or do you play McCown thinking he can give you a better chance of making the playoffs that a gimpy Cutler who has been out for 6 weeks?
Tough to beat last week's coming out party, but there still is a half to play. They said Alshon didn't have NFL speed. I think they said the same about Jerry Rice.
