If Rodgers plays, they can beat anyone, Seattle included So, put Rodgers in the RG3 scenario even if he's not medically cleared? No, wouldn't do that. I thought I heard the doctors cleared him. If they say no, I would never play a player.
The only reason I can see Rodgers not playing is that he can't make all the throws even though cleared to play. Maybe a 60% Rodgers not as good as a 100% Flynn. I really don't think GB is worried about reinjuring Rodgers's collarbone.
Packers have to consider carefully whether their entire franchise is worth an 8 win, one-and-done team. If it's me, I play Flynn unless I've got multiple doctor's signature in blood. They already have the doctors OK. I don't see how playing Rodgers hurts the franchise at all. At worst he hurts the collarbone worse and is back 2 months before training camp.
Well, that's just wrong. Is it? I'm not saying he is the better quarterback, but he is the better quarterback right now. Also wrong. I disagree. Cutler is still not right. How many times has he got up slowly tonight on seemingly pedestrian hits? He still doesn't look 100% healthy to me. He's probably not 100%, but he can run a little and has the entire playbook. The only thing that mattered going into this season was evaluating Cutler. These games are hugely important for that. Bears aren't winning the SB with Cutler or McCown anyway with this defense.
This is Jay. The highs are high and the lows low. I don't think he's had a great 5 game stretch as a Bear. Can he do it now going against really good teams? But horrible oline tonight hasn't helped.
That's on Trestman. Same with Podlesh. He's gotta do something about it. Trestman? Maybe the ST coach or the GM not giving him better options. I guess you could put some of the blame on him but I think there's better options. I think this is right but DVOA had the bears special teams in the top 8 every year for a decade under Taub. This year they are something like 16th I know ST are bad. See what Weems can do. Couldn't be worse. Emery should have had a better punter week 5.
If you told me week one the Bears would have a shot at winning the division against GB week seventeen I wouldn't have complained. Have to keep reminding myself of that.
He just got old, that's all. As I recall the Bears chose to keep him around this year when they didn't have to. Who knows if Urlacher had anything at all left, but maybe they kept the wrong old guy. Every team in the NFL knew Urlacher had nothing left. Sad, but true.
If the Bears do make the playoffs, I still think they can go places and win a game or two as long as they don't play the Eagles. All offenses are bad matchups against this Bears defense, but this one is especially bad.
