  1. Not sure I follow. When he first became commissioner, it seemed like he was tougher with discipline. No?
  2. Briggs is probably going to be the latest Chicago sports guy to be run out of town by a lynch mob. This is the kind of news that never would have made the light of day if the pitchforks weren't already out. That said, he appears done as a football player. I think he wanted the controversy surrounding his restaurant. Opened it on purpose to get in a media spat.
  3. Briggs was out until 4 AM on Friday night buying shots. Fine, just don't play like crap.
  4. Remember when Goodell was the tough guy in town? Not anymore.
  5. Is Allen's PFF grade out yet?
  6. What was their field position?
  7. Every QB makes throws that should be intercepted. Cutler also threw a perfect ball to Forte in the end zone which he dropped. The only positive is that the team most people thought would win the division in GB also lost.
  8. I think that was the easiest game on the schedule this year. Maybe home against the Vikings is close. Not good. Who knows what will happen the rest of the season, but if the Bears miss the playoffs, could Emery and Trestman both be gone?
  9. If he goes 34/49 with 360 yards often we'll probably win a lot. Not when you throw two picks on top of that. Jay is 4-14 when he throws 2+ picks.
  10. The Bears defense gave up 30 points a game and Emery hasn't been able to draft a good defensive player yet (hoping Fuller is the first). Trestman helped the offense become the second-highest scoring unit in the league. Would Arians have been better? Maybe, but last season was not completely on Trestman.
  11. I think most people wish we had Romo instead of Jay. At least Mccown just threw a horrible pick in the red zone when 3 pts would probably seal a win. Nah I'd rather have Jay, warts and all Romo is the fifth-highest rated passer of all time, but I think Romo and Cutler each have one playoff win
  12. Jay is a cool guy who doesn't care and is funny during interviews and throws hard and that's why people like him. He's a slightly better than average QB who I hope realizes his potential. But not a bet I'd make.
  13. Bruce Arians, who was the 2012 NFL AP coach of the year. But Emery went out of the box. What Trestman did for the offense was better than expected. He did his job on offense. But if he's going to be the offensive Lovie who can't hire a D coordinator, then the Bears are no better.
  14. He is who he is, sure, but that's nowhere near who he is. Has there been a QB who at 31 became the player everyone thought he could be? If not, that will be the last word on Jay. Kurt Warner, Rich Gannon, Joe Thiesmann, Warren Moon... As was stated before, Moon and Warner never had the chance. That's irrelevant to your point, if you're saying age has something to do with it. I think it's assumed you can't blame a guy for not peaking until age 30 if he is bagging groceries in his 20s.

Kurt Warner, Rich Gannon, Joe Thiesmann, Warren Moon... As was stated before, Moon and Warner never had the chance. I'm all for Jay living up to his potential, I just don't see the odds on his side.
  16. He is who he is, sure, but that's nowhere near who he is. Has there been a QB who at 31 became the player everyone thought he could be? If not, that will be the last word on Jay. Rich Gannon? How old was Kurt Warner? I guess Warner was a case of never getting a solid chance. How long was Gannon with Trestman before he turned his career around?

  18. There is good news: free HBO and MAX weekend
  19. Cutlers performance crushed me. I know he will have better games, and games where he will look like the best QB in the league but if there was any hope that Cutler would have a career year where he is consistently a great QB, it's gone now. I guess I shouldn't expect that kind of leap at age 31 anyways. Every QB makes dumb throws. He made 2 in the game, and one of those happened to be severely punished. I think you're overracting. I'm glad they signed Jay. There were no better options. But he is what he is: a guy who isn't a particularly smart QB and has failed to live up to his potential.
  20. A new old and slow DE to run right at in Allen
  21. I think Jay leads a game winning drive here
  22. Ha the Bills can't cover the Bears' only receiving weapon
  23. Leg got twisted between two players
