  1. Don't trip on your skirt.
  2. The 'stros have won 8 of 9, something like that (Braves & Cubs, I know). They're a club that's finally trying to recover from that horible spell in May. Berkman looks healthy, Oswalt's trying to get there, Pettitte's strung a few good outtings together, Lidge is only half mental right now, and Clemens comes back next week. Hopefully they'll add a bat before the deadline. I don't think they'll win the division, but they can contend for the WC. That's really good enough. Outside of the Mets, I don't see any dominant teams in the NL right now.
  3. I like it. Old school stuff.
  4. Good luck with that.
  5. Grimsley’s trainer is also Poo-holes’ trainer and self described "soul brother" to Poo-holes? As a baseball fan, I hope Poo-holes isn't dirty. As a cards hater, it would be funny as hell. I'm a bigger baseball fan than cards hater, so I hope it isn't true.
  6. I think they'll fade too, but they're white hot right now.
  7. I like the last pic. Pure baseball, nothing else.
  8. Pettitte wasn't very good in the first half last year either. And, yes, I was off in my prediction by 21 days.
  9. You guys would be all over him if he were coming to Chi-town. Hell, Barrett practically begged him at the WBC.
  10. I'll expect to not see you when they miss the playoffs. I've been here for three years, won't go away anytime soon (by the grace of God, anyway).
  11. Wore down late in the year. Didn't pitch April or May this year. Looked good in the WBC.
  12. Always liked Miller, I hope he comes back strong and does well.
  13. Yeah, he was pretty bad last year.
  14. You had to expect to see me when Clemens signed.
  15. Which means it's about time for you guys to trade them all away so you won't have to pay them.
  16. May 31, 2006, 9:55AM Astros seal deal with Clemens By JOSE DE JESUS ORTIZ Copyright 2006 Houston Chronicle ST. LOUIS - Roger Clemens and the Astros have officially reached an agreement, according to a person in the negotiations who told the Chronicle. A press conference will be announced shortly. Clemens, whose 341 career victories are more than any person alive, went 18-4 with a 2.98 ERA in 2004 while winning the National League Cy Young Award, extending his record Cy Young collection to seven. After helping the Astros to the National League Championship Series in 2004, he was 13-8 with a major-league best 1.87 ERA last season while helping the Astros reach the franchise’s first World Series. Although Clemens flirted with Boston and the Rangers, his former Astros teammates laughed and cautioned that he’d return to Houston. Clemens’ signing should bolster the club. “It will add a boost to the team,” ace Roy Oswalt said. “Any time you get a guy like that in the rotation, it would be great. "We have to have a spark, and hopefully he will give it to us.” Catcher Brad Ausmus was pleased. “I think it’s a huge boost to our pitching staff,” Ausmus said. “Why? That’s a stupid question. He’s a horse. He’s probably the best pitcher in the history of the game. He’s the type of guy that for a full season you can count on for 200 innings. Astros owner Drayton McLane negotiated deep into Tuesday night with Roger Clemens’ agents, and he headed to Houston early Wednesday morning. “We worked on it last night, so that’s why I’m going to Houston right now,” McLane said as he boarded his private airplane in Temple. “We’ve worked to try to get this thing done.” McLane has been optimistic for weeks, and he has made definite progress with Clemens’ agents, Randy and Alan Hendricks.
  17. :D :D :D :D :D Expect a bat and BP arm before the deadline too.
  18. If Prior doesn't pitch at all this year, I would start to worry about his career being in jeopardy.
  19. I think one could make a strong case that they're both a couple of morons.
  20. Bitter much? Jeez.
  21. Not so fast, if they sweeten the deal a little, you just might be able to convince the stros to part with Preston Wilson.
  22. You're really reaching.
  23. He was on the radio here in Houston before the game yesterday. I think he thinks pretty highly of himself.
