  1. That's like saying I wouldn't vote for Wood after he broke Lugo wrist way back when. It was a BS pitch, but that's baseball. Some of you cubs fans remind me of what we call "aggies" down here in Texas.
  2. Ensberg was robbed.
  3. I'll be honest, I thought he was pretty much done.
  4. Jim Edmonds is a native Californian, but he has a home in Houston. It's called Minute Maid Ballpark. That was a nice one. And painfully true. But not as painful as the pic in your avatar.
  5. He CAN be sent down. All he has to do is clear Major League (revocable) waivers which is pretty much a formality. No GM in his right mind would claim a player off of those since he would expose himself to retaliation from other GM's, plus it's a common practice done by every team. At some point in the season pretty much every player goes on major league waivers. :?
  6. To be honest I am just happy to see some good baseball, it was really, really bad there for a while.
  7. Berkman has been back for a while but is just recently rounding into form. Yes, most of the streak has come against weaker foes. This padres series will tell a lot, but the 'stros have been strong at home against everyone. It's the road that was killing us. There are a couple of good arms in the pen behind Lidge in Qualls and Wheeler. Would likely add an arm there if this good play continues. Legit contenders? You can't really say so at this point, but if this strong play continues much longer you would have to say yes. The rotation is solid and the team is just now really hitting. Ensberg is tearing the cover off the ball, Berkman is just now warming up, Taveras has been a very nice surprise, and Biggio is still solid. The club has said they will be buyers, and with another big bat they could be interesting. I don't think any of the WC teams are going to run away and hide so who knows. Oh yeah, Dunn is a native Houstonian and still has a home here. 8)

  9. 1 game back of the cubs now. Oswalt managed to dodge all would be assassins outside of the stadium on route to throwing a 5 hit 1 run complete game.
  10. Nice, toughguy.
  11. BTW, if there is any justice in this world, you guys will help us out and get Roy O voted in, the kid deserves his first allstar gig. http://houston.astros.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20050703&content_id=1114059&vkey=news_hou&fext=.jsp&c_id=hou
  12. Jimy is here! Just scattershooting wondering why the best 3B in the NL didn't make the All-Star team. 8) Don't look now, but the 'stros are only 2 back of your mighty cubbies. Will we make another big push, probably not, but I think we're in a position to add another bat before the deadline. If that happens, and Ensberg sustains his breakout year, who knows? The rotation is certainly there, and Berkman is just beginning to hit again. We're just glad to be able to watch some decent baseball again, it was pretty painful for a while. I also have to add the recent streak hasn't come against the toughest of competition.
