  1. Really wish McNutt could separate himself...Damn.
  2. Another look at Castillo is fine with me. Same question as everyone else...
  3. You'll be pleasantly surprised by Brown's run play...and love him against those two Colt TEs. Love the Jets draft...called the hell out of th Davis pick. Young Bart Scott clone...

  5. Hmm....I want to buy into Fried because of the curveball of doom, but between those two I might lean Almora given the little I know.
  6. Great college player doesn't necessarily mean great pro, and I have questions about him just like there's questions about Coples. Unlike Coples, those questions are physical. I think NFL OTs will give Ingram some trouble. What questions might you have about Ingram physically? They're not huge....He's short with short arms....Makes up for it by being a mover, but how many pass rushers are 6'1 with short arms. Harrison and then who? Not a major knock but over a guy who entered the season as a consensu top 5 talent? I'll get over it. He's athletic, strong and has an array of pass rush moves to make up for his shorter arms. Coples was overrated preseason and his draft rating was adjusted during the course of the season to where it should have been all along. I can concede that about Coples but: 1) Tore up the Senior Bowl which has a good tracker ore of finding pros. 2) Still a better pass rusher than Ingram. Ingram in a better draft is a 2nd round pick anyway...
  7. They also coach for Clemson.
  8. Whether it affects them on the field or not, there has been a huge amount of drama in the offseason and adding Tebow, while it could be smart if he's used right, will simply add to that. Also, Mark Sanchez simply isn't very good and anytime your QB is bad, it's hard to hold the team together. I'm mildly optimistic on Sanchez, and not worried at all about the D being 2009 good again.

  10. What's the quote....Rumors of our demise were greatly exaggerated? The Jets' troubles are more headline fodder than they are real....IMO and no homer. They've made some very smart moves this offseason, but I realize that most won't acknowledge it as such until the team hits the field in September.

  12. 100% convinced it's bogus and have for a while. He admitted that he didn't go all out because he wanted to be healthy for the draft. Gave himself a C. http://www.cfbstats.com/2011/player/457/1017324/index.html Anyway working with those numbers...he lost 4 total tackles, half a TFL, 5 hurries, and 2.5 sacks, and for guys who didn't walk into the season as a top 5 pick that's a damn good senior year. So basically he produced solid numbers in his sleep...that's the kind of talent we're talking here. He had something like 4 position coaches in college...the HC was fired before the end of last year...school was being investigated...Just saying, to the careful (or more biased/selective) ear it sounds like UNC is crazier than Coples is. Mind that through a of that he stayed out of actual trouble...Wilkerson the Jets DE/DT is a former teammate of his and called him a better player than him as well as a strong teammate. Fn love this pick...Did not think he'd actually reach 16.
  13. Just hope you can keep him motivated. Personally consider that a [expletive] knock in the individual case. People were calling Nicks fat/lazy coming out of UNC, and that turned out to be a lie. UNC the program has a ton more questions than Coples does, IMO. The guy threw up 18 sacks between two positions his last two years. He threw up 8 last year while being lazy and unmotivated...If I had to bet on a rookie putting up ten sacks it would be Coples, no doubt.
  14. Waking up loving that Coples pick. Rex and the FO comparing him to Trevor Pryce/Shaun Ellis and saying he'll put his hand on the ground. Really hoping its kinda just what they're saying and he plays LB instead. Either way great to walk out with the best pass rusher in the draft... Hoping for Alshon Jeffery and Zac Brown/DeMario Davis today I think...there's others, of course, but for now those would be my targets.
  15. [expletive] the Bucs. Damn good offseason for them...More pissed than surprised. Barron is nasty... Now hoping Jets land Coples.
  16. Dallas getting Claiborne? One Barron threat down like 8 more to go.
  17. I like Trent Richardson. Too bad no one told him his position is dead, so I hear.
  18. Now that he's officially paid...Nice BOOBS though.
  19. That is interesting...Good to know I think I'll follow him. He hasn't been much good yet, but there's likable aspects. Really eh night...How's Jensen looking?
  20. I'm pretty excited for this presentation by the NFL. They've had months and I expect months worth of production value and, of course, storylines and headlines. The NFL is one of my favorite soaps/programs, and I expect a thrilling totally not scripted extravaganza. Thursday prime time...mAn the draft has come a long way once the NFL machine realized how fun it can be. Remember Saturday morning draft guys? Rounds 1-3? Remember? Damit they're good.
  21. What for I wonder....Kalil? Richardson? Others?
  22. Oh thank Jah. I was worried. Keep hearing the Pats and Bills attached to Barron at 10 and 12...I'm going to be a sad panda...unless the Jets land someone else I like, whoever that is.
  23. Size, with Mason being 3-5 inches taller? Age when drafted out of HS? Both irrelevant? Ben Revere at age 20 was (similarly) putting up huge BA's in single-A, and even hitting XBHs more frequently than Williams; speedy OF is actually a relative area of depth in our system, too - so move over, Matt Szczur, somebody even slappier's in town! getting a 150 lb. project OF as the main prize for Garza might just make me physically ill I think you underestimate being bigger and younger...Revere was 19 or just about 19 when he was drafted out of HS (I'll try to find the article on age and HS/draft prospects). Williams is straight up a more interesting prospect....Saw the stats and didn't say Revere had a bad season at 20 or anything (good for him there, i guess). Don't think anyone said a thing about Williams headlining a Garza trade either. You can find a hundred guys with similar numbers...there's more to it than that and things like age, height, and other physical attributed ARE stats as well, often pretty relevant ones.
  24. I can't imagine the Yanks would hesitate for a moment to shell out ace money for as many ace guys as they could acquire reasonably. I bet they'd be thrilled to have last year's Phillies rotation, for example. I bet they'd love to have Lee at his contract price or Hamels at his current price...Hernandez is reasonably priced for another couple of years and then he's easily topping any of the Philly 3's contract. I don't even think Halladay's overwhelmingly paid either... That's not even factoring in wear and tear, a mysterious drop in velocity (I'll find the article), the Yankees would be giving up 2 of the best prospects in baseball, he'd be a FA in two years...There's a whole mess with that for a franchise looking to shorten their long term payroll....and I didn't even bring up that CC and Lee originally came from a franchise that at least saw SOME success after 2001. So sure, price a rotation with 3 aces sensibly like Philly did and the Yankees would jump all over it. That doesn't seem like its really the case with that Hernadez rumor that doesn't matter anymore. How much do you expect Hernandez to get paid? Lee's making $25M each of the next three years, his annual value ($24M) is the second highest for a pitcher's contract. So for Hernandez to easily top that, he'd have to get around $30M per year. Lee's contract was widely considered a steal due to the years... Felix will almost assuredly get more years. If he gets 5 years then he just might get that 30 million you mention.
  25. Not for nothing I think your injury is worse than his. I managed to dislocate my throwing shoulder 7 times, 2-3 after surgery. Balls.
