  1. Are Freddy Galvis and Andres Blanco the exact same human being?
  2. I think most voters have moved on from wins, but that doesn't mean a lot of them look at defensive independent stats yet. In the end, I think Greinke's ERA is just too low for them to take other things into account. And it's hard to blame them, really.
  3. I'm going to count this as you complimenting him.
  4. Starlin deserves to be in this lineup. So do about 9 other guys though.
  5. ahahaha, the Phillies broadcast had a great shot of Rizzo's f bomb.
  6. huh? He forgot there were two outs and started to run into the dugout *Right after making a great play.
  7. I'm on my phone, so without looking it up again, I want to say Castro's minor league walk rates were actually respectable. Everything said he was clearly mlb ready, including his performance early in his career. I mean yeah, they probably thought he still had some development left, but teams call up guys all of the time with hopes they continue to develop in the majors. There are a bunch of things Hendry did wrong, but I'm just not of the belief Starlin is one of them.
  8. I agree that Baez would've had less of a chance of succeeding, but if we're going to blame a particular front office for how Castro has turned out, it shouldn't be Hendry's. I think it's kind of forgotten how dominant Starlin was before getting called up. In my mind he wasn't rushed.
  9. Looking at the players that were acquired as a direct result of sucking - Bryant, Russell, Schwarbs, and Arrieta - and how good they are and how long they're under control, I don't see how anyone can say the last 3 years weren't worth it.
  10. Um, did you not see that 495 foot bomb on 0-2 Sunday? Why choke up? Same reason Baez does - Same reason Rizzo did. Maybe control his swing sounds better. It's his swing path. Choking up or whatever with his swing is kind of pointless. His swing is partially what makes him one of the best players in baseball and is what causes him to K a ton.
  11. Schlitter was pretty dominant out of the pen.
  12. I thought the BFIB were all about appreciating a baseball game, and not leaving early depending on the score?
  13. I remember when I feigned interest in the Daytona Cubs winning it all a few years ago when Bryant was playing for them. These days are a little bit more fun.
  14. What if Javy is Manny Machado without the desire to intentionally hit catchers in the head with his bat
  15. He does look noticeably slimmer than last year. He supposedly lost a bunch of weight this offseason because he couldn't eat after his freakishly fake, white teeth were put in.
  16. Ooo, I so thought Len was going to point out that Hank Aaron took PED's as well during their ARod conversation.
  17. No. He's behind Schwarber, Coghlan, and even Jackson for me. And if Castro and/or Javy are hitting, I think he's behind them too, when you factor in how rusty he'll be, as well as the defensive impact.
  18. David, I think Starlin was deleted accidentally from your signature. Surely you wouldn't drop him and keep Soler..
  19. At first I read that Kapman tweet as a drunk driving zinger. He almost became awesome for a second, but nah, nevermind.
  20. Nah, I completely agree with you. However, TT brought up a good point about the stupid PNC dimensions. I could see Maddon being afraid to have Schwarber play LF in that park in the WC game.
  21. lol, it's strange to see that type of cannon at 2B turning a double play
  22. I kind of think Starlin is back, offensively. There are going to be multiple good players not in the lineup when Schwarber returns. That's a very new and good problem for the Cubs.
  23. Eh, I thought it was clearly fair. Looked like MOST of the ball was foul, but it definitely caught part of the line.
  24. If we keep a huge lead, it could be an Edwards day.
  25. This rules. I was pretty convinced this would be a loss and they'd destroy Haren (that second part could still happen).
