  1. You shush. I will fly you out to San Francisco.
  2. We're going with an all bench lineup even if the Cards win? Also, it's really hard to get upset while reading posts with this new horsefeathers filter.
  3. Who is this huge man who hit two line drives tonight
  4. On the bright side, we get to hear Julianna again.
  5. Hmm, I thought both his curve and changeup have looked great
  6. Jon Lester is the horsefeathers
  7. I was more upset with Castro's hitting last year than Heyward this season because his adjustment was much easier in that he just needed to stop pulling everything. Heyward, on the other hand, literally doesn't know how to swing a bat. Like its frustrating, but I feel bad for the guy. I went a long period thinking the contract would still end up being fine. But there's zero signs of life, and he'll need to completely overhaul his swing this winter. Anytime changes that big have to be made, Im not so sure the default assumption should be that he'll be fine. I now have big concerns over what I thought was the safest $180 million FA contract ever.
  8. Heyward is a poor man's Albert Almora at this point.
  9. I'm pretty surprised Deadspin hasn't posted about the Heyward play and the fan's attempted theft of his glove. Maybe it will make the daily Cardinals Lose article tomorrow.
  10. Fred, Len, and Hendricks are pretty much the three greatest people to ever walk this earth.
  11. fwiw, both Rogers and Sharma have recently said he doesn't have a good chance based on what they've heard from writer/voter types. That said, a sub-2 ERA with a no hitter, might make him the favorite. I can see that being the case. But I always come back to.....if not him, then who? They both said Scherzer because of the difference in innings and K's.
  12. I think the old baseball rule is to keep all of the same defensive players on the field during a no-no, but this better not end on a bloop to LF with Almora on the bench.

  14. Maybe he should be done picking up a bat this year.
  15. Are they over-compensating now for comparing everyone to Bryant last year?
  16. The other team's ace will probably pitch in game 3 against the Cubs. I don't know if that will affect how the Cubs line up. Hendricks has been better at home, but I'd also have more faith in him vs a MadBum or Thor than I would Jake.
  17. I know this will never happen consistently, at least vs righties, but if we want to keep elite defense in RF, just put Almora out there. He can at least mix in a few line drives and OPS over .650 (probably).
  18. NIce. btw, I like that Ross is catching tonight. Contreras has otherwise been very good defensively, but he's struggled catching Arrieta; costing him strikes, wild pitches, results, etc. I'd rather Ross catch Arrieta in the playoffs, then work with Willson next spring. They Heyward/Javy/Ross/Pitcher bottom of the order will suck, but we'll just prevent all of the runs.
  19. He's gonna end up with an OPS in the .500s, isn't he.
  20. We've only gone 4-3 against all of our potential playoff opponents. Oh no!
  21. There is a defensive display being put on tonight.
  22. Thank you, Mr. Luhnow. It's actually pretty amazing the Astros have completely whiffed on two #1 overall picks in the last five years and have as much young talent as they do.
