  1. Yikes, Heyward's OBP has dipped below .300. I must have just started blacking out during his AB's; I thought he had been hitting better. We'll always have that 3 bloop hit game.
  2. Haha, I forgot they stuck Steve Phllips in the booth with Morgan there for a bit. Poor Jon Miller.
  3. Heyward looks like he could be Carl's dad and they're like the same age
  4. Cahill hasn't thrown enough strikes this year to be on the playoff roster.
  5. Man, how awful must the Brewers be as people that Braun is their Clemente Award nominee?
  6. I think both Coghlan and TLS are pretty much already on the playoff roster. We'll have at least 5 bench players, if not 6. Ross, TLS, Soler, Coghlan, Almora or Szczur I don't think Contreras will catch Arrieta in the playoffs, but that doesn't mean Montero has to be on the roster. If Ross gets a concussion, we can replace him mid-series.
  7. lol, the crowd reaction to every Cub hitter who's announced is great
  8. There is at least one Aaron that posts here...
  9. It must literally take weeks for fangraphs to write and pick out the calls for their "worst strikes of the season" piece.
  10. Does "Hit the Road Jack" really work when the pitcher just did the very thing he was brought in to do?
  11. I sort of doubt that bunt call came from the dugout.
  12. I don't think "bunting is stupid" should necessarily be the takeaway there.
  13. Woah, I hadn't realized how great Wood has been vs lefties. So he still serves a purpose, I suppose.
  14. I so badly want to see Madbum meltdown here
  15. I'm late but god Madbum is such a weirdo. That was an extremely obvious balk.
  16. Stuff looks excellent, but he still randomly goes through at bats having zero command. I'm going to feel a lot more comfortable with Lester and Hendricks during the playoffs.
  17. I'm assuming Maddon would say it's because he expects the second baseman to get more action today than the third baseman. But yeah, dudes with 45 arms should probably not play 3B, especially with two above average ones also in the lineup.
  18. Joe Smith had a vision of God on his rehab assignment. He'll be fine now.
  19. I was under the impression Chapman would be unavailable tonight, but it looks like he'll have to pitch. Also, I feel like we're gonna be one of those rare contenders that carries like 35 players in Sep. We're gonna need some bullpen reinforcements before the injured guys come back, plus there are multiple interesting position players.
  20. I know Lester and Lackey do similar things, but my goodness does Cervelli complain about a lot of correct calls.
  21. Yeah, now he's probably gonna be a perennial .300 guy. His K rate just dipped below 22% after his last PA, and we're almost into September. This is a guy who struck out over 28% of the time in AA for Pete's sake; just a crazy turnaround in that department.
