  1. He also looks completely fine at both 2B and CF. He's made me a firm believer.
  2. So just the one run on Angel Hernandez will end up scoring then. Cool.
  3. I'd like a gif of Happ throwing his glove up at the ball in the background as Koji was warming up because that sums up the season well. Our players can't even play catch well.
  4. Brewers up by 4 runs against the Marlins late. Say what you want about the Brewers but 3 games certainly isn't nothing. A comeback would be yuge for my mood.
  5. And if you think about it, with Lester/New Guy/Hendricks getting a bulk of the starting pitcher innings in the playoffs with Koji/Carl/Wade getting the bulk of the pen innings and Monty either starting or relieving depending on how things go, that's still REALLY good. They just need to get there and it becomes less likely the more you wait.
  6. They should commit to selling, Wade Davis for a top 40 prospect sounds pretty good right about now. Eh, selling ain't happening in this division. I think it's more of a matter of buying vs standing pat and not giving up future pieces. Though I'm assuming the starting pitcher would be around for more than this year, so I still think it makes sense to buy. And it needs to be very soon.
  7. If the Cubs are committed to buying, there is a ton of value in doing so early. Not going to go on that run with both Butler and Lackey (and Arrieta, but he's not going anywhere) in the rotation.
  8. Damn, another Reds starting pitcher that is better than most of our's.
  9. I mean the Reds have the better lineup tonight and a pitcher that would have the 2nd lowest ERA in our rotation, so maybe this isn't surprising. It is quite depressing, however.
  10. Good job, Cubs. You were the best at hitting the sports ball with a baseball stick.
  11. At least they're not teasing us with a sprained ankle before word gets out tomorrow he tore his achilles.
  12. Let's go ahead and keep Zagunis and Candelario in the minors until the trade deadline.
  13. Jesus horsefeathers. Schwarber was moving around on a torn ACL better than that.
  14. Maybe I'm just projecting here, but I feel like that's a comment that is going to really set Theo off. Sort of like when he almost killed Kevin Gregg in whatever year that was. He just had to send his favorite player down and has probably been going full on Ski during most of the games this year, and now he has to deal with Miggy's horsefeathers. Overall, he still has value over the course of a season since he's a much better hitter than your average backup, but it's clear now you can't trust him to catch in the playoffs no matter who the opposing pitcher is. We may need to look for another catcher whether Miggy is around or not. If Contreras gets hurt late in the year and Caratini is bad behind the plate, we'd be kinda screwed.
  15. Time to treat La Stella like a 40 year old Lenny Harris.
  16. Were all pitches to Zimmerman there better than the strike 3 to La Stella?
  17. Delayed stealing against Arrieta and Montero is like the textbook example of overthinking.
  18. I remember when La Stella played most of the Wild Card game at 3rd base and I didn't mind it. But now, I can't even comprehend the idea of him playing defense in a playoff game.
  19. Goodwin can go ahead and take his base (3rd base I'm talking about)
