  1. Maybe? I want to say yes, but the offense being awful the last few days is clouding my judgment. Two of their three best hitters next season (probably) are still in the minors though. But he said this lineup. NVM. I can't read.
  2. Javy just picked up Lucroy's mask for him. How are other teams and fans supposed to hate him doing that?
  3. Nice, hard contact on a hanger. Even if he doesn't make huge improvements with the approach, he possibly still could be like Soriano and make a career out of crushing hangers.
  4. Lame. Another instance of valuing the umpire's guess more than what slow motion replay says.
  5. MLB.com has Almora ahead of him      I think the most overrated prospect in the game as well as the most underrated prospect are both in the Cubs' system.
  6. ESPN Chicago talked about Bryant's path being similar to Longoria today. I wanted to compare their stats: Longoria in 937 minor league plate appearances (there's some rehab time in there, but I don't feel like figuring it without those PA's), put up a line of .296/.385/.528/.913 with 47 bombs and 104 walks to 170 K's. He played in the NYPL, California League, Southern League, and the Int League Bryant through 648 minor league plate appearances, is at .340/.435/.691/1.126. He too has 47 homers, with 82 walks to 170 K's. Obviously the strikeouts and defense definitely favor Longoria, and to be fair, he also had pro time as a 20 year old while Bryant did not. Kris Bryant is good.
  7. lol, through 5 games a .261/.261/.696 line for Javy with a 43.5% K rate.
  8. Wait, how did LeBron come up in this conversation?
  9. If they're using replay with the idea they're only changing the call if there's 100% proof it's wrong, then they need to make that decision earlier. Like that Ruggiano play, you could tell after a few replays it wasn't going to show 100% either way. If they're looking at it for 5 minutes though, then make the call based on what replay LIKELY says (he was safe).
  10. I saw people disagreeing with you about this on bleachernation yesterday. It's funny that people pretend there's not a double standard.
  11. I didn't like the 2nd WC at first because I didn't want this to become more like the NBA, but I really like how it's turned out. It needs to stop at 10 teams though.
  12. With way less walks but playing the middle infield instead of 1b. You've done it again.
  13. Ok, Joe, you are the one managing, not the fans. We still have to watch pitchers bat. I'll take the DH, please.
  14. May sound weird, but his K's are a lot more fun to watch than see in a box score just because of the swings he takes.
  15. ? Man on 2nd nobody out. He was saying the other day how he'll need to shorten up his swing to move runners over when necessary. There was also a game earlier this season when Starlin had like 3 hits and the Cubs won, the first thing he talked about on the post-game was how he failed to move a runner over.
  16. Who moves in with a chick at 18-19? Albert Almora.
  17. I hope Baez pulls the ball here, just to piss Kap off.
  18. btw, thinking back on that time Baker pitched, major league catchers really should be able to throw harder than high 70s. No wonder he doesn't throw many guys out, except right there.
  19. He was spacing off in LA when Schierholtz threw that runner out at first too. I hate always comparing the two, but the pass he gets is kinda funny when his SS would be getting crucified right now for doing something similar.
  20. lol, I was expecting more AB's like that up to this point
  21. Wrigley looks pretty damn full today. Though it is a beautiful Friday afternoon, so it may have been anyway.
  22. Javy looks so scary when he hits with those sunglasses.
  23. Brandon Guyer bats third for them? Ok.
  24. Yeah Jesse Rogers was on the radio earlier and said this was the first time since spring training he saw Theo, Jed, and Mcleod all down on the field watching BP at the same time.
