  1. Bradley has been OBPing like 400 since his shitty start. Reed Johnson is brutal against righties.
  2. Yeah similarity scores, those are useful predictors.
  3. I suspect he WAS sleeping. Permanently. no he was dead Permanently.
  4. I hope Paul Sullivan gets crushed by an anvil.
  5. Oh my God, stop. Mark Mulder hasn't been good in 15 years.
  6. Chances are way higher than 5 that he stays with the Blue Jays. The Blue Jays have no motivation to trade him unless they get blown away. Nobody is blowing anyone away with prospects recently.
  7. Please let me know who is a good bet to perform better in the playoffs this year.
  8. Wouldn't there have to be significant support from Ricciardi? And wouldn't he have to be incredibly stupid to show this support?
  9. I know range factor is not a great stat, but he had a couple of years early in his career that were over 7. I think getting to 2 balls a game more than Ozzie while only making 30 more errors may be a decent argument that he was better. Where are those #s coming from?
  10. Toronto isn't a small market club, and Halladay has made no public overtures about wanting out, in fact he seems to like it there. I think this is a lot more winning clubs thinking they can have whatever they want than the Blue Jays actively shopping him.
  11. She really must've been crazy...she could've just sat in his lap while she shot herself.
  12. Francouer doesn't make enough money for the Braves to need to dump him to get a lesser return in a trade.
  13. I'm not seeing it, and I think next to nothing of Podsednik.
  14. What purpose does 6 ejections serve? The minor league umps are learning the job, everyone knows they aren't the best. It's not like he's going to prove much of a point. They, along with his back in my day rants convince old stupid baseball lifers that he'll be a great manager.
  15. They have a very broken Rich Harden when everyone's healthy. When they aren't, it gets worse. There's a ton of room for improvement there. If everyone's healthy, how is Rich Harden broken?
  16. Unless you have five starters better than him, it's not really a redundant position. Not redundant, but limiting returns. I don't quite get that. The return is in the runs over his replacement, not in the overall team offense or defense. Until you start getting into the extremes of the marginal values of runs in high- or low-scoring environments, that is. If you have the best pitching in the league with Shawn Estes as your fifth starter, and a mediocre offense of eight guys just below average, you are still getting more value by replacing Estes than improving the batting. The Cubs don't have Shawn Estes as their fifth starter.
  17. Unless you have five starters better than him, it's not really a redundant position. Not redundant, but limiting returns.
  18. Over 100 points of OPS difference (Franco v LHP - Blanco v RHP). And Blanco has 1 career HR, so the chance of him getting lucky and parking one was pretty low. A solo HR wouldn't have exactly killed the Cubs there. Neither would Gregor Blanco.
  19. It's not the second half yet. That's when Marquis usually implodes. I'm just mad cause the Rockies fleeced us. Luis freaking Vizcaino, give me a break. Two words: Contract yr. Definitely helped him out last time.
  20. Are we sure she didn't die of exhaustion?
