  1. I don't have an issue with Ascanio pitching in important spots. I woulda pitched him in the 8th. The issue is he burnt the former starter for 2/3 of an inning for a game that at best was going to extras.
  2. My guess is he's not going anywhere cause this isn't anywhere on any board.
  3. Most LFs don't get to that. That's why he's an average-above average LF. nice try, still not buying that Do you think most LFs get to that ball?

  5. But Theriot hasn't played 2B regularly in 3 years. I don't think it's that big of a deal. Well [expletive] me sideways

  7. Bradley's teammates have always adored him. That is completely untrue. Yes, a few players out of the hundreds that Milton has played with have publicly said he's a good teammate. A few. The general consensus around MLB is that Milton is a huge a-hole and isn't liked by most of his teammates. Link? Evidence? Nonsense? And Jeff Kent doesn't count. Everybody hates Jeff Kent.
  8. Those are pretty strong words. You don't even know the guy. He can 'have a complex' and still be a kind and caring human being. The words you used better describe Michael Vick, or the like. Where did I say he wasn't a kind human being? His family probably loves him. He's obviously not too tolerant of his teammates and, as a player, he's been a POS. F him is my opinion. I never wanted anything to do with this guy playing for MY team. He's never been a major part of a good team. He's the type of guy that says he wants the attention and to play in a major market but in reality, he'd be much more comfortable putting up a .900 OPS for a last place team with no fans or people that really care to follow him around. I think you have a far worse complex than Milton does.
  9. Are you supposed to find "difference makers" in the middle of the first rd? The last decent player picked at 16 was Hedo Turkaglu and that was 2000, I believe. At this point if Johnson turns out to be Gomes, then it is a solid pick. That's a little extreme. I'm talking about good players on winning clubs...guys like that are found in the middle to late parts of the 1st round every year. Maybe, but the Bulls are not looking for "impact players", there looking for players who can contribute and play towards Derrick Rose's abilities. You shouldn't purposely draft mere contributors(I read this as bench players) unless you're a team at the doorstep of a championship.
  10. He's earned his roster spot with his hitting. His fielding isn't as comical as I was expecting, but he's not very smooth or mobile out there.
  11. But he doesn't bat left-handed. And he's terrible. I'd rather play with a 24 man roster than with So Taguchi.
  12. It's like I went into Cubs Discussions and a Game Thread broke out.
  13. I think WSR is an Iowa Cubs fan who passively follows the Chicago Cubs. So Taguchi and Sam Fuld, holy [expletive].
  14. The rest of the article is pretty interesting. It seems that Bradley has been having a difficult time adjusting to his new surroundings. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-27-cubs-milton-bradley-side-jun27,0,40471.story Check out the author. If Milton ever finally snaps, I hope that clueless hobbit is the first one he spikes in the face.
  15. Bradley's teammates have always adored him.
  16. I'd say below average. He doesn't seem to read the ball of the bat well and his effort is questionable. He has played way too many singles into doubles and triples. Soriano looks like an above average outfielder on paper, but if you actually watch the games and see the balls that he misplays, I would say he is below average at best. Most of the time his misplays don't result in errors, because he misjudges the ball too badly to get into position to catch it. Soriano looks like a below average defender on the surface because he makes a lot of really stupid errors. In fact he's pretty decent out there cause he's got good range and a great arm.
  17. Marmol really needs to be moved to mopping up til he straightens himself out. Ideally Marshall would move into the setup role, but we've gotta save him to throw 2 pitches per game, so I guess Ascanio to the 8th, Heilman to the 7th.
  18. It's a good way to create a story to get the rookie that doesn't know how to handle the media to give a controversial quote about a controversial player. Sportswriters can kiss my hairy ass.
  19. So maybe we shouldn't have wasted all that time having Jake Fox playing 1B and DH in AAA this year?
  20. there's a lot more to this story than what you're thinking. no way was he forced off the team, there's just no way. And it's not no way man, we wouldn't do that to a kid. It's no way man, he was going to play 15+ minutes per game and would be our best returning defender.
  21. impressive. tracy smith, aleks maric, sean may. kind of makes you wonder why he went where he did, eh? That's a huge difference in rebounding percentage between Blair and the others. yeah, but look who they are. not exactly bill walton, shaquille o'neal, and tim duncan. Yeah, but nobody is saying that Blair is Walton, Shaq, or Duncan Hawkeye seems to think he's all 3 rolled into 1.
  22. Ping, trust the guys who are unhealthily obsessed with Illinois basketball. 1. Jordan got actual minutes this season. 2. Jordan was entering this season as 4th on the depth chart of a 3 guard offense. 3. Again, Jordan was given a scholarship 6 months ago. 4. Illinois had a full '10 class before giving Jordan the scholarship. 5. Illinois will play this season with 12 scholarship players. 6. Bubba Chisholm will be a walk on for the Illinois basketball team this year. 7. Jeff Jordan is a better player than Bubba Chisholm. 8. There is no limit to the number of walks on you can have(if there is, it's certainly higher than 2.)
